It depends on how you think. If you’re aiming for cat shows, their strong genes are undeniable. But what’s the real difference between show – quality and pet – quality cats? Anyway, I don’t care about that anymore.
When you scratch their bellies, they’ll purr beside you and then fall asleep. Throw a ball to them, and they’ll be as happy as little kids running around the house. Every time you add canned food to their dinner, they’ll meow non – stop following you. In the morning, they’ll squat beside the bed, lick your hand, and meow to wake you up. When you’re unhappy, they’ll slowly wander over to you and lie quietly beside you to keep you company. When the cat was sick and hospitalized, I took the subway for over half an hour to the hospital to accompany it after getting off work at 9 p.m., and then took the last subway home. You’re still thinking that when you have time this weekend, you can rub its belly well, and then you suddenly realize, damn, it has grown so big.
At first, my girlfriend and I simply thought that British Shorthairs were good – looking. And now that we have our own jobs and lives, and we want to live the way we like, so we decided to raise them.
Now, I increasingly feel that this kind of love can’t be simply described as just liking British Shorthairs. They’ve become the main characters in our Moments, and all our short videos are about them.
My parents were worried about us in every way. They were worried about our health and that raising cats would make us less focused on our careers. They tried all kinds of reasons and methods to take the cats home, but we firmly refused.
Later, my parents also grew to love them more and more. If we didn’t post their photos in the family group every day, my parents would ask for them. The whole family gradually became cat slaves.
Later, Melbourne had an immune failure and got feline distemper and passed away in the hospital. That night, we wrapped it in a blanket and put it in a cardboard box and took it home. I dug a hole in the yard overnight and buried it. It still makes me sad to think about it now.
Later, my wife and I discussed and decided to send Azu back home. It wasn’t that we couldn’t resist my parents’ requests, but we thought that my parents were more capable of taking good care of it than us.

We haven’t sent it back yet, but we’ve already planned the trip. I’m extremely reluctant.
In addition, after treating it like a son, I suddenly realized that if I were to raise a real child, it would be such a huge responsibility.
OP, I’m saying all this just to tell you that one day you’ll find that you’ve truly fallen in love with the cat you raise, not just the simple desire to have a cat at the beginning.
The one on the left is Azu, and the one on the right is Melbourne.
They’re just half a year old. They’ll follow you everywhere and always ask for hugs. When their IQ is normal, they’re very obedient. When they want to get on the sofa, enter the kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom, they’ll squat in front of the sofa/door, look at you, and only continue when you allow it. The happiest thing every day for them is to be scratched, and they’ll purr and then fall asleep. Also, they’ll fight with each other every now and then, and then hug each other and sleep in the nest. Recently, they even learned to snore.
Add some photos to record.
Right after being neutered.
Later, they got fatter and fatter.
Sent back to my parents. The grandparents – taking – care – of – the – child mode has already started. Every day, it makes us laugh until tears come out.
Got conjunctivitis. Naughty boy, sit still.
Recovered from the illness. Why are you so girly? You’re a male cat.
Acting crazy again. It’s said that his grandpa looked for him at home for half an hour, and then he just lay there in the sun watching his grandpa look for him.
His grandpa especially likes to take him out to play.
His grandpa also went fishing and brought the fish back for him to play with. He had never seen a fish before and looked super dumbfounded.
Of course, the scene changes when it’s time to take a bath.
Is it cool to use your foot as a pillow?
On the Lantern Festival, he “paid New Year’s greetings” to his dad like this.
It’s said that he was catching mosquitoes.
This basket is more than 20 years old. His mom used it to put plush toys in when she was a kid. Damn, Azu, you’re just like a plush toy too.
Every time I see him wash his face, I really want to scratch his palm.
One day, he had a “one – night stand”. Okay, son, you’ve grown up.
My dad took this photo and sent it to me, telling me that they don’t watch TV much anymore. Usually, they just watch Azu watching TV.
I just want to say that before, if I stepped on the coffee table, I would be scolded to death. Now, the coffee table is Azu’s recliner. Humans are not as good as cats.
Sleeping, don’t bother me.
Once again, before, if I blocked the TV when my dad was watching “Bright Sword”, I would be scolded to death. Azu, what’s with that peaceful – as – time – passes look in your eyes? Humans are not as good as cats.
But grandma’s photography skills are really good. All kinds of embarrassing photos remind me that Azu is just a crazy cat.
Azu’s awkward look.
