The Troublesome and Surprising Days with My Newly Adopted Cats

The Troublesome and Surprising Days with My Newly Adopted Cats

It seems quite… right? And it feels like its simple and honest appearance is just on the surface. In fact, it’s very cunning and has a deep mind.

I saw in a local second-hand goods exchange group that a guy was going to give away two cats. One was a two-and-a-half-year-old orange cat, and the other was a six-year-old blue cat. Since I had always wanted to keep a cat but had never raised one before and didn’t dare to start with a kitten, I contacted this guy. He was in a hurry and asked me to pick up the cats that night.

I picked them up a little after 11 p.m. on the 4th. There were no problems that night. Maybe because of the new environment, they hid under the wardrobe. They came out to eat some cat food and use the toilet in the middle of the night. I thought they were already grown-up cats and should know everything they needed to know. The next day, I changed the water and food and then went to work.

When I came back, the blue cat actively came over and rubbed against me. When the little orange cat saw it, it also tentatively approached me. I was quite happy and divided some cat treats for them. The blue cat didn’t fight or grab. It would eat when I gave it the treat, and if I didn’t give it, it would just look at me longingly. The little orange cat squeezed in and grabbed the treat. Finally, when there was a little bit left and some of it got on my finger when I squeezed it out, thinking it would be a waste to wipe it off, I stupidly put my finger in front of the two cats’ mouths and wanted them to lick it.

As a result, after the little orange cat grabbed and licked it twice, it suddenly bit my finger with a “meow”. I patted its head and then put my hand in front of the blue cat’s mouth, and it obediently licked it. After I washed my hands, I found that the orange cat actually bit my skin a little, leaving a tiny wound. I rinsed it with water for a few minutes and then didn’t pay attention to it anymore (the previous owner said that both of them had received all their vaccinations).

When I went to bed and was about to sleep, I found a large puddle of cat urine on the quilt!!! I was stunned at that moment. I contacted that guy, and he said that they had never used the toilet anywhere other than the cat litter box when they were at his home. Well, I clearly heard a cat using the cat litter box to go to the toilet last night, and it did it three times. And now they did this to me tonight.

Since there was no surveillance and it had been a while, the cat urine had soaked into my down quilt. I didn’t know which one of them did it. I analyzed it with that guy, and he said it was absolutely impossible for the blue cat to do it, saying that the blue cat was very smart.

Okay, anyway, I didn’t know who did it, and I couldn’t wrong an innocent cat, right? So I silently dealt with the quilt and scolded them.

On the 6th, I went to work as usual (making up for the work on May Day). Before going to work, I laid several blue-package sanitary pads of Qidu Kongjian on my bed (because there were no other things with a bit of a stimulating smell at that time, and those sanitary pads had a bit of a mint smell. I was just trying whatever I could, not knowing if it would work). When I came back at night, indeed, there was no cat urine on the bed.

I thought that it was just because they were in a new environment and the little cats were not used to it. Then at around 1:30 a.m., the blue cat started to whine and walked around, jumping everywhere. This lasted until a little after 3:30 a.m. I got up and interrupted its whining countless times. Finally, it quieted down just before dawn, and I fell asleep too.
