Since I brought Wang Laosi – Xiaodi home, I planned to start a sideline business by opening a cattery for breeding.

On October 31, 2020, three babies of Xiaohei and Xiaodi were born. Now the kittens are about three months old and are about to get vaccinated. Taking care of the delivery, the pregnant cat, the mother cat, and the kittens in the middle was really not easy. Especially during the delivery, seeing Xiaohei’s painful look when giving birth made me feel extremely heart – broken. Just the milk powder, supplements, meat, and cans that the kittens need to eat now are a huge cost. Roughly calculated, during the 2 – 3 – month – old period, one kitten can eat about 600 – 700 yuan’s worth of food in a month. And the time cost is even greater.
So now I think it makes sense that the cats in regular catteries are priced high.
After much consideration, I felt that running a cattery really wasn’t suitable for me, so I decided to close the cattery. Currently, the father cat Xiaodi has been sterilized and will be a happy little cat from now on. The mother cat Xiaohei has finally finished nursing the babies. I have made an appointment for her minimally – invasive sterilization surgery this week, hoping she can enjoy a happy cat life as soon as possible.
As for their kittens, they must be sterilized before being entrusted to good families.

Before deciding to buy Wang Laosan, I also looked at many British Shorthairs, from well – known catteries to those on Xianyu and WeChat Moments. The direct – line descendants of top – level catteries with titles like GC, BW, NW, etc., depending on the competition award – winning situations of the father and mother cats and the appearance of the kittens, are priced from about 10,000 to 35,000 yuan. Some don’t sell the breeding rights separately and require buying a male – female pair. The price will be cheaper if the cats are sterilized. There are many cheap cats on Xianyu and in WeChat Moments, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand yuan. But after looking around, I really believe that you get what you pay for. I believe that after seeing those show – quality cats, people won’t be interested in those cats that cost only a few hundred or a few thousand yuan.
