Toilet Training
The owner needs to be patient and observant, always paying attention until the Bichon Frise doesn’t relieve itself randomly. The owner should always watch and observe the situations in which the Bichon Frise needs to relieve itself.
When a Bichon Frise walks slowly in the house and sniffs the floor with its nose, it means it needs to urinate. When its front feet are in one place and its hind feet are making circles, it means it needs to defecate.
When a Bichon Frise is about to relieve itself, it must show some kind of behavior, although the behavior often varies according to its personality. When the Bichon Frise shows the above – mentioned behaviors, it should be immediately taken to a fixed place to relieve itself. If it relieves itself randomly, it is best to punish it immediately.
Training to Stop Random Barking
A Bichon Frise’s random barking can really be a nuisance. At first, when you don’t want the Bichon Frise to bark, shout at it: “Don’t bark!” to make it stop barking immediately. If this is ineffective, hit it gently with a rolled – up newspaper tube. This training method usually has a better effect.

Training to Sit
Put your hand on the Bichon Frise’s waist and press down, saying “Sit, sit” while pressing. After the Bichon Frise sits well, move a certain distance away from it, give the command “Sit”, and at the same time, stretch your hand horizontally downward. Repeat this several times. After the Bichon Frise is proficient in this action, just a hand gesture will work without having to give the command.
Training to “Pray” and Turn Around
Put the Bichon Frise’s favorite food above its head to tempt it to stand on its hind legs and take the “praying” posture. You can also train it to turn around on this basis, and finally train it to spin as soon as it hears the command “Turn around”.
Training to Reach Out and Shake Hands
At the beginning, shout “Reach out”, then pick up its left front foot with one hand and its right front foot with the other hand. While saying “Good, good”, take out one hand to stroke the Bichon Frise’s throat or chest, and you can also give it some food. This way, it will learn faster.
Teaching to Lie Down
First, make the Bichon Frise take the “Sit” posture. Then, while shouting the command “Lie down”, pull its two front feet forward and gently press its back so that its chest touches the ground. Repeat this action.
Training to Refuse Food
Train the Bichon Frise to only eat the food given by the owner and not eat the food given by others. During the training, you must first choose a person unfamiliar to the dog. This person feeds the Bichon Frise with chili peppers or very bitter food. After the Bichon Frise eats it, it will feel spicy and uncomfortable. Then it will refuse food given by strangers.
I hope that all the owners who love Bichon Frises can raise a healthy, beautiful, and adorable Bichon Frise.
