Stories of Two Golden Retrievers: Resilience and Bonding

Stories of Two Golden Retrievers: Resilience and Bonding

My cousin has a Golden Retriever that is raised in our hometown. Usually, my grandpa takes it to work in the fields. Once, when grandpa was weeding, the Golden Retriever might have been wandering around in front. Then, the sickle cut off a tuft of hair on the dog’s nose. They didn’t notice it at that time because the dog didn’t even bark and seemed normal. It was only when they came back in the evening that they found a rather deep wound on the dog’s nose. The whole family felt extremely heart – broken. But the dog acted as if nothing had happened. Now that the wound has healed, there’s still a tuft of hair growing in the opposite direction, probably because of the previous injury.

Also, I picked up a little Golden Retriever not long ago. It was a stray dog. Maybe due to being a stray for a long time, on the first night after bringing it home, it pooped in the corridor of our house. So, I gave it a beating with a slipper. I thought I hit it quite hard because it was so naughty. I thought it would get angry, but it didn’t. When I was doing the cleaning, it just followed me around, just like a little child. Hahaha, it’s so cute. And now it doesn’t poop randomly anymore. Even when I scold or lightly hit it when it’s really disobedient, it doesn’t seem to react much. Maybe it’s because I’m not very strong, as I only weigh 41 kilograms.

It also has a problem of pulling on the leash strongly. Perhaps because of its past stray life, it’s very wild and loves to jump on people. It’s friendly to everyone. I thought it would run off with anyone, and I was a bit sad, thinking it was heartless. But when I took it back to my hometown, it always stayed by my side. When it was outside playing with Xigua (my cousin’s dog), it would run back in every now and then to check if I was there and ask me to pat its head. Hahaha.

Currently, due to its long – term stray life, it has skin problems and is still under treatment. I hope the dog will get healthy soon. Hahaha.

Oh, its name is Sanmao, and it’s a lovely male dog. Hahaha.
