I have a two – month – old Border Collie. It’s very smart and can learn simple actions after being taught a few times. However, it still needs proper guidance regarding things like biting and using the toilet. Currently, it’s like a little crazy one, which really gives me a headache. Maybe it’s because it was just brought home a few days ago. It doesn’t sleep well at night and barks loudly in the middle of the night. Recently, I’ve been watching “The Dog Whisperer” and learned a lot of scientific methods. You really need to train a dog from a young age, as it gets more difficult to teach when it grows up.
Simple training should start when the dog is two months old. Usually, I use Wangzai small steamed buns for training as they are relatively easy to digest. It’s not allowed to bite furniture or hands. Recently, I bought some teething sticks. It can chew on them for over an hour, which is just right for a two – or three – month – old dog. When it tries to bite furniture or hands, you must say “no” to it. Otherwise, it will be out of control when it grows up. Sometimes, when it’s too disobedient, I roll up a small paper tube to scare it, just to let it know who the master is.

My little Border Collie was born on December 16th and was brought home on February 14th. After bringing it home, I observed it for a few days. Since its physical condition, eating, and activity levels were all fine, I did internal and external deworming for it. After another week of observation, if there are no problems, it will be time for vaccination. Remember, don’t bathe the dog, don’t take it out for a walk, and definitely don’t let it come into contact with other dogs in the week after vaccination because its resistance is relatively weak in the days after vaccination.
The most annoying thing about this dog every day is that it wakes up too early. It gets up at six o’clock in the morning, then goes to the toilet to poop and pee by itself. After that, it comes to me and asks me to clean up. It’s quite clean – loving.
The most important thing is companionship. Buy a few toy balls, both with and without sounds, frisbees, and teething wool ropes. It varies according to the dog’s preference. Throw the toys out and let it pick them up. This consumes its energy and exercises its body. Once it’s tired, it will be well – behaved. Border Collies are quite smart and should learn quickly. But it still requires the owner to be more patient with it. They say that dogs are less naughty when they are around ten months old. Have some confidence. In the first few days when the dog just came, I was really on the verge of collapse, but it has been getting better day by day. It’s a process of gradual progress.
