How I Unexpectedly Became a Cat Slave: The Story of Leo and Toffee

How I Unexpectedly Became a Cat Slave: The Story of Leo and Toffee

Before raising my cats, my long – standing wish was to have a dog. I didn’t have a particular liking for cats and had never thought about keeping one.

On the evening of April 22, 2018, I went to have a meal near the community with Lawyer Li. After returning home, I realized that I had dropped my keys and ID card at the restaurant. When I went back to look for them, on the way, I saw two small figures. At first, I thought they were mice, but then I heard meowing and realized they were two little kittens. In April, the weather in Chengdu wasn’t very warm yet. If the two kittens were left running on the road, they probably wouldn’t survive. So, I took them home.

When we got home, I saw what the two little ones looked like. They were siblings!

Since I had never raised a cat before, I hurriedly bought some kitten – suitable premium cat food in the supermarket and made a nest with an old piece of clothing in a cardboard box. That’s how they settled down in my home.

The next morning, I quickly bought goat milk powder, cat litter, and cat food on JD.com.

When I got home in the afternoon, I found that Leo’s eyes were stuck together and he couldn’t open them. So, I took them to the hospital for a check – up. The two little ones were one month old. Toffee was very healthy and weighed 600g, while Leo had ear mites and an eye infection and weighed 450g. I bought some medicine at the hospital and then went home.

The little ones are very smart. As soon as I brought the cat litter home, they knew how to pee and poop in the litter box on their own and never messed around.

After that, it was a happy life of “cat – sniffing”!

I never thought that one day I would become a die – hard cat slave!

Warning: Many pictures ahead!

Leo

Leo is the younger brother. He has a soft and cute personality. When he was a kitten, he ate very little and was especially greedy. Whenever we had a meal, he would stay by our side. With his gluttonous nature, his weight quickly exceeded that of his sister!

Leo at his most handsome

He is extremely clingy. They follow me wherever I go.

“Hey, what are you doing in the toilet, human?”

“Don’t work overtime. Look at me!”

He sleeps right next to me.

They always greet me at the door when I get home from work.

In the morning, he wakes me up with this look: “Human, it’s time to feed me!”

A master at catching bugs.

The view from high places is the best.

The overbearing president.

Overall, they are in good health. However, in March this year, Leo got feline infectious peritonitis. I spent a lot of money and worried a great deal to cure him. Seeing him gradually recover, I felt that everything was worth it!

If you give me a high – five, you have to promise mom that you’ll live a long life and never get sick again!

Looking at them, I think everything about them is cute. They’re cute when they sleep, their little backs of the head are cute, and their little mouths are cute. Now, thinking back, maybe I dropped my keys last year just so that I could meet them!

Everything is the best arrangement!
