It’s because they are really cute and smart!
My dear baby came to my home when he was three months old. I tricked my mom into thinking I picked him up, but actually, I bought him from a cat dealer. Hahaha. I took a fancy to him at the first sight. He was sleeping in the innermost part of the cage, and among all the cats on the street, he was the roundest.

At first, he was very shy and hid in our shower room. No matter how much we called him, he wouldn’t come out. I even broke the water pipe in our house while trying to find him, but he still refused to come out. I started to regret buying a cat that wasn’t affectionate. But as it turned out, I was proven wrong. Later, according to my mom, he couldn’t stand it anymore and ran out. Then he looked so pitiful that my mom wiped him dry.
From then on, he started his journey of competing with me for my mom’s love.
Every time I came back from college, he would get angry with me and hide. He was afraid that I would come back and divide my mom’s love for him.
He really adores my mom. When he meows at my mom, it sounds more like “ma” rather than “miao”. After getting familiar with us, he no longer hides. He can tell who is coming home by the sound of the keys. If it’s me, he comes to greet me depending on his mood. If it’s my dad and he comes back with fish caught at night, he will go to greet him. Otherwise, he ignores my dad. If it’s my mom, he probably starts waiting at the door as soon as my mom gets out of the elevator. By the way, if he goes to greet my dad but my dad doesn’t catch any fish, he will “scold” my dad. Hahaha.
Since he was a kitten, he didn’t like to sleep in the cat bed we bought for him. Instead, he insisted on sleeping between my parents. When he was small, it was okay. But as he got fatter, my parents said he would press the quilt tightly and they couldn’t move. If they did, he would grunt.
Another thing is that he has a skill that many cats have – opening doors. God knows how he learned it. No one taught him. My younger brother was preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination and living in our house at that time. In the middle of the night, he opened my brother’s door, which scared my brother half to death. Hahaha.
Let’s talk about him and my mom again. To my mom, he is like a dog. Wherever my mom goes, he follows. My mom often walks around the house with him, saying she wants him to lose weight. Well, when I went back last time, he weighed 12.4 pounds. He really should lose some weight.
When we took him to get neutered, just after giving him anesthesia and his tongue sticking out a little bit, my mom cried when she saw his vacant eyes. Hahaha. My mom is so emotional and kind – hearted! And he is really attached to my mom. After he was neutered, my mom was out for a day. He was okay with that. But when my mom came back, he became very pitiful. He lay on my mom’s lap, then slowly straightened up and put his head on my mom’s shoulder, and grunted a few times. My mom patted his back just like comforting a child.
Everyone is a baby after all.
I can never get tired of talking about the stories of my dear baby. For example, he can mediate when we quarrel, he will pester us to cover him with a quilt, and he will cry when we put him in the carrier. Moreover, he is really well – behaved. After coming to our home, he has never caused any damage, except to the sofa.
Oh, one more thing that happened a few days ago. I was on the phone with my boyfriend, and he made me cry. So, I started sobbing. At first, my cat didn’t really care about me and even hid in the wardrobe. But as soon as he heard me crying, he immediately rushed out of the wardrobe and ran to me, looking at me worriedly. He didn’t leave until he was sure I was okay. He is such a warm – hearted little gentleman.
So, I often sigh that my Huanhuan is the best cat in the world to me. Because of him, I no longer care about the cat’s breed. The big tabby cat is just fine. As long as we accompany each other, we are unique to each other. Who has the time to care whether he is a rare breed or not?
