So, in that narrow elevator, we had a profound discussion about whether we should keep the cat. I’ve always adhered to the principle that once I decide to keep a pet, I’ll never abandon it. Therefore, I’ve always been very cautious. If the conditions aren’t right, I definitely won’t take on the responsibility. The reality was that if we wanted to keep the cat, we’d have to find a pet – friendly apartment. However, such apartments usually cost an extra month’s rent. Since we had just graduated and were in desperate need of money, that additional rent was a significant hurdle…
By this point in the discussion, the outcome was clear.
Just as we were about to take the elevator back down, at that very moment, the little creature wrapped in my coat suddenly stuck its head out from the collar and gave my boyfriend’s chin a little kiss!!

Instantaneously, I felt that this was fate. It wasn’t us choosing it; it was it choosing us. Among all those kittens, only it came running towards us cheerfully, allowing us to pet it. Wasn’t this a sign of destiny?
Well, we decided to go home.
After arriving home, we were shocked to find, “Oh no! Why is it so ugly?” It was emaciated, just skin and bones. Its two eyes were swollen and oozing pus, with one eye completely sealed shut by the pus. But this little one had been purring happily ever since we first laid eyes on it. Except for when it was sleeping or eating, it purred non – stop for three whole days. When we took it to the vet, the doctor said it was just too overjoyed to stop… Well, of course it was happy, having found a long – term provider and embarking on a glorious cat life. Humph.
Later, its eyes gradually improved, and it put on a lot of weight. Its appearance slowly became more appealing. Relying on its cuteness, it became a bit of a rascal at home.
It’s truly the cat with the highest emotional intelligence I’ve ever seen. It can sense my mood and knows exactly what I like and dislike it doing. Before it starts causing trouble, it’ll first observe my reaction. If it sees me glaring at it, it’ll quietly slink away. If I don’t show any signs of disapproval, it’ll keep biting or scratching. Whenever it realizes it’s about to get scolded or smacked for misbehaving, it’ll immediately flop down, expose its belly, and roll from side to side. Its big, watery eyes are brimming with cuteness. Aaaah, it’s so adorable that I just can’t bear to hit it. 乊 A 乊
It’s never irritable and has no temper. You can pet and play with it in any way you want. It’s not shy around strangers at all. Anyone can touch or hold it, showing no sense of reserve. It loves to stand by the door with me when I’m receiving packages. Even the delivery guys are familiar with it.
In short, having it is my good fortune.
