The Heartwarming Journey of My Street – Bought Tabby Cat

My cat was bought on the streets of Chongqing. At that time, I was traveling in Chongqing. An aunt was carrying a basket and asking if anyone wanted to buy a kitten. I had been thinking about getting a cat but hadn’t found a suitable one. When I lifted the cloth covering the basket, I took a fancy to my cat at the first sight. The aunt said it was a kitten born to her own cat and sold it to me for ten yuan.

Tree – climbing

I happily bought it. The next day, I hid the cat in my down jacket, went through the security check, and got on the train. The little guy was extremely cooperative. It kept meowing on the way, but when going through the security check, it was completely quiet.

I took the train back to Guiyang (I rented a house in Guiyang for work, and my hometown is in Chengdu). In a hurry, I made a simple little nest for it, put two big steamed buns in it (yes, my cat had such a tough time when it was a kitten), sacrificed my blanket, and then went to work. When I came back in the evening, it had pooped all over the blanket… The next day, I took it to the flower – bird market, bought a bunch of miscellaneous things for it, and asked the doctor to check it. The doctor said to raise it for a week and then bring it for vaccination.

I’m a cute and fierce little tiger

Well, anyway, the cat and I lived together in Guiyang for over a year.

Later, I returned to Chengdu. During the Spring Festival, I took it with me to squeeze onto the train. The train that could transport pets didn’t have sleeper tickets left. As a result, I had to endure a 26 – hour train ride back to Chengdu.

My home in Chengdu is on the first floor. As soon as we got back, it became lively. It went out for a stroll every day. At first, it only dared to smell and look around on the balcony. Later, it directly jumped down and wandered around everywhere. During this period, it was chased by a dog once. When I heard the noise, I rushed downstairs immediately. But all I saw was a big black dog barking wildly, and the cat was nowhere to be seen. I was so anxious that I shouted for it everywhere. I even went out with a flashlight and called it several times in the evening…

Two days later, it came back. There was a layer of paint on its paws. I had no idea how it got that. I washed it and used scissors to cut off the hair with paint on it. I saw that its nails were almost worn out. It was probably due to being too nervous while running away. After being well – behaved for a while, it started going downstairs and jumping around again. Later, it even chased dogs, making those unaware dogs run around in a panic…

This is the first cat I’ve raised. I’ve raised it from a kitten. I’m very happy to see its fur shiny and it getting chubby.

It’s true that tabby cats recognize their owners. I’ve been back home in Chengdu for over a year. My parents also like to play with it and feed it delicious food, but it only clings to me. When I call it, it responds. It only lets me give it a bath. Before, I had to cut its claws before bathing to avoid bleeding incidents. Now I don’t even bother to cut them. I’m just afraid that it might get bullied when fighting outside. Now, when taking a bath, besides meowing pitifully, it doesn’t stretch out its claws. When it holds my hand, it only uses its little paw pads.

There is also a dog in my family. One day, when the dog was bullied by another dog outside, my cat saw it. It went up and launched a series of attacks, defeated the enemy dog, and returned triumphantly.
