How Mocha Came into Our Life and His Charming Personality

Mocha is actually extremely aloof. Usually, he doesn’t like us to hold him for too long. However, as soon as we sit down, he will come and sleep on our laps. No matter how uncomfortable it might seem, he insists on it. Hahaha. Also, it’s so adorable to see all of you scolding the original owner and standing up for Mocha.

It was probably by providence. I had always been eager to have a cat. When I was actually about to start researching cat breeds and considering adoption or purchase, I saw a post from my high – school classmate.

My classmate works as a nurse in a pet hospital. One day, a cat owner came in, intending to euthanize her cat.

This was the cute little fellow. He was named Mr. Gloves because of the white “boots” on his legs.

The original owner was moving to another city and didn’t want to take Mr. Gloves with her, so she planned to have him euthanized. At that time, Mr. Gloves was only six months old. Surely, the doctor was reluctant to euthanize such a young cat. But the cat owner claimed that she couldn’t take him along when moving and was determined to carry out the euthanasia.

Then my classmate suggested that she would try to find another adopter. If no one could be found before the original owner moved, euthanasia would be the only option.

So, after reading the story my classmate posted, my boyfriend and I decided to go and see Mr. Gloves. Mr. Gloves took an instant liking to my boyfriend and me. He kept purring and circled around us. He was delighted when my boyfriend picked him up, and he didn’t get angry when I pinched his paws.

Therefore, we decided unanimously to adopt him. After all, we couldn’t bear to let this cute little one be euthanized at such a tender age.

Well, after bringing him home, we thought the name Mr. Gloves was too complicated, so we renamed him Mocha.

Later, we discovered that Mocha is actually very shy around strangers. He really dislikes it when our friends come to visit. So, the fact that he took a strong liking to us upon first meeting was truly a matter of providence.

Now Mocha is four years old.
