My Resilient and Lovable Cat: A Journey of Care

My Resilient and Lovable Cat: A Journey of Care

I picked one cat from a bunch of kittens in a grocery store and brought it home. In that grocery store, there was an old female cat. In many small – town grocery stores or food stalls, they often keep a female cat to catch mice and let it reproduce. So, they don’t take good care of the kittens born.

After bringing it home, I found that it was covered with lice and had stubborn ringworm all over its body. I caught the lice right away. The ringworm was rather tenacious. I applied medicine and cleaned frequently. It took about over a year for the ringworm to completely disappear.

Later, there was a time when I changed its cat food. It was still a kitten at that time. The new cat food might not be very good. The silly cat vomited but still wanted to eat. That was the first time it got sick. I was so scared that I immediately took it to the veterinarian. The vet gave it an injection and said to cut off water and food for one day and then resume normal feeding. Since I didn’t suspect the cat food was the problem at that time, I fed it the same cat food after one day. It vomited again a few hours after eating. Then I realized it was the cat food’s problem and changed to another kind of cat food. After that, it got better.

The most recent incident was really shocking. I keep it on the balcony. There were some small plastic bottles of plant nutrient solution on the flower stand on the balcony. One morning, I got up and found it lying on the balcony as if it were dead… It had vomited a lot of white foam. I saw that it had bitten through all the plant nutrient solution bottles. Each bottle was 5 milliliters, and there were five bottles in total. I was speechless! I immediately picked it up and put it in the cat carrier, planning to take it to the vet. But it struggled to get up and resist, running away and hiding from me. I was both angry and worried, so I quickly caught it and put it back in the carrier. When we got to the vet, the vet examined it and then looked at the ingredients of the plant nutrient solution. The vet said it was okay. The plant nutrient solution also contained some trace elements that the cat needed, but it had drunk too much and got poisoned… The vet gave it an injection that promoted diuresis. It got better soon after we got home.

It’s about three years old now. In these three years, it has only been sick three times, and basically, none of the illnesses were due to its own constitution. So, I think my cat is extremely easy to raise!

Since bringing it home, my life has become much more interesting. I clean up its mess and teach it a lesson every day. It’s really fulfilling!
