I’m not sure if it counts as being easy to raise… I’ve had this cat for about a month. I saw an uncle selling animals on the roadside after work. I originally planned to buy a cat after graduating next semester, but then I made eye contact with it, and… well, it changed my life.
On the first night, I didn’t dare to take it home because my parents didn’t like cats. So I left it on the rooftop. It was covered in fleas and kept scratching itself. I don’t know where I, a person with a cleanliness obsession, got the courage to hold it on my pajama pants and take pictures of it…
These pictures were taken on the rooftop that night with the flash on (இωஇ )
The next day, I told my parents about it and put it on the balcony. There were still some things left from Pipi (the cat that got lost, and this new one is named DouDou), including two bags of cat litter, which I used for him. But guess what! This guy didn’t know how to use it! He pooped on the balcony and in the bags, and even peed on the sofa cushion! I still haven’t dared to tell my parents… Later, I searched on Baidu and found that if you put the cat’s excrement into the cat litter, it will learn. So I used paper to clean up his pee and poop and put them in the cat litter. And indeed! He immediately learned! However! He didn’t know how to cover it up. He just left it there after pooping, and the smell was so bad that it was almost unbearable (ー_ー)!!
Look at this cute Chinese rural cat.
At first, I wasn’t very good at raising him. He always ran behind the refrigerator and to the kitchen trash can. I would pick him up by the tail and spank his bottom. As a result, he became more and more timid and aggressive. Then I searched a lot on Zhihu, watched various videos, and read books to find out that you must never hit a cat, especially a two – month – old one like him. Now I’m doing socialization training for him, and he’s much better than before. He’s gradually becoming clingy and loves to lie on my legs and sleep.

Here’s an update on the situation. Before I knew it, it’s been over half a year, and now my DouDou is super well – behaved.
Last year, due to the incorrect interaction methods between my parents and him (always using their hands and feet to tease and play with him), he developed the habit of pouncing on and biting people’s hands and feet. This habit gradually got worse. First, he bit my brother until he bled, and then he bit my hand until it bled. I was really desperate at that time and didn’t want to raise him anymore. I cried many times.
Then I searched on Zhihu about cats pouncing and biting people, and by chance, I saw Live on Zhihu by Xileba, “Love Cats in a Cat – Understanding Way”. I realized that many of the problems were because of my wrong methods, and the cat was actually not at fault. Then, reluctantly (using my entire semester’s internship salary), I signed him up for cat training classes. Now he’s super cute and even knows how to act cute! Alright, without further ado, here are the pictures and the video (be careful if you’re on a metered data plan).
