The Rescue and Growth of My Adorable Cat, Little Mew

The Rescue and Growth of My Adorable Cat, Little Mew

When I was on a business trip out of town, I went to the cafeteria for a meal. To my surprise, there was a little kitten in the dog’s kennel at the cafeteria entrance! It was so small and thin, meowing softly and shivering. Its voice was a bit hoarse. The aunt who served the food said that a young girl in the unit picked it up at the main gate. Since no one wanted to raise it, it was left at the cafeteria and then picked up by the dog.

The dog wasn’t big enough to take care of this little kitten! The kitten was almost starving. The aunt said that when the kitten first came, the dog often bullied it, but later they got familiar and the dog would carry the kitten everywhere. I just couldn’t stand it anymore. One Saturday noon, I bought two big ham sausages, prepared a small box, bribed the dog at the kennel, and took the kitten away! (I regret not taking a photo of the kitten and the little yellow dog together at that time.)

After bringing it back, I fed it some ham sausage and then gave it a bath. Goodness, there were so many fleas on it! They were big and numerous. After the bath, I used tweezers to pick off the fleas one by one. Later, I went to the pet hospital to buy internal and external deworming medicine, and then things got better! When I picked it up, the little guy was almost a month old. Its eyes were blue at that time, but as it grew older, its eyes turned brown – yellow.

Later, it became extremely clingy.

During the deworming period, the doctor suggested keeping it outdoors. So I took it to an empty meeting room. Every mealtime, I went to change the water and feed it! Amazingly, the kitten naturally knew to use the litter box for pooping and peeing. This is so much more convenient than having a dog!

After that, it started to become very naughty. Maybe it’s because it was born in 2018, the Year of the Dog, and it had been with a dog before. It was really good at “destroying the house”! In the place where I lived, anything made of leather was scratched beyond recognition.

Later, when the project ended and I went home, I packed it up and brought it back with me. It was very obedient on the way. The journey was six hours long, and it didn’t meow much, didn’t make a fuss, didn’t eat, drink, poop, or pee. It slept all the way back!

My husband really likes cats, and we’ve been raising it until now. It’s been over seven months, and the cat is now over eight months old! It weighs almost nine pounds. It’s a handsome boy! It still has the “house – destroying” trait. Any part of the sofa made of leather in our home couldn’t escape its claws. It also loves to chew on things. The wooden table legs, dining chairs, and quilts are all covered in bite marks.

My husband loves to play with the cat, and his hands get scratched by this little guy every day. His hands are still full of scars. But now this little guy has calmed down a bit.

Spring is coming, and the cat is shedding more and more hair. I bought a clipper online and shaved its fur. It ignored me for two days. My husband said that a cat takes after its owner. Just like me, it has a short temper, is petty, and holds grudges.

Right after being shaved, it looked a bit sad.

It gave me a sidelong glance when looking at me! It ignored me!

Because the big “M” on its head was very clear, I named it Little Mew.

It’s very obedient in one way. It only meows softly when it’s hungry, thirsty, or when I accidentally close the toilet door on it. It doesn’t meow much otherwise. Before, I was worried that it might disturb the neighbors.

People say that cats are very aloof. Why is my cat so extremely clingy? When I get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, this little guy will actually wait outside the door for me.

I’ll stop updating for now!
