I currently have four cats, two rural cats and two breeds. The one I spent money on was the eldest, Huang Xiaoxian, which cost a total of 35 yuan including gifts; the second, Huang Xiaoju, was a stray cat, and it took two years of effort to get to my house; the third, Lan Pipi (blue cat), was a relative’s cat. When it was a child, it was fostered in my house for treatment. When it was in estrus, I was begged to adopt it, and now it has become my cat; the fourth, Huang Baobao (key color ragdoll), was originally just to help take care of it for sterilization, but who knew that the previous owner said that seeing me take care of it was relieved, so he gave it to me (God knows! Three is enough for my family!), but I can’t say no, for social reasons, alas!
Let’s get back to the point, I have been raising cats for more than six years. Four masters with four different temperaments, plus the stray cats outside the window, I have fed more than a dozen cats in total. Along the way, I have a lot of thoughts and summed up as follows:
1. Don’t treat cats as ignorant children, they are better at observing words and expressions than you.
2. Don’t guess whether the cat is lonely or needs a companion! It doesn’t need a cat, it only needs you!
3. It looks out the window every day not because it is eager for freedom, but just patrolling its territory. If you take it out, it will scare it to pee!
4. Each cat has its own personality. Only by following the guidance can you harvest your cat. This process may take a few days or even years. It depends on whether you have patience!
5. Cats that have strayed have wilder personalities. Don’t take it for granted that all cats are cute! Don’t mess with the wild cats on the roadside. It’s not fun to get scratched.
6. Purebred cats are not only good-looking, but also have good personalities. In comparison, the personalities of rural cats are more different. It is best for novice cat owners to choose kittens over three months old with domestic pedigree, as their personalities are easier to develop.
7. Don’t underestimate the matter of raising a cat, it is a process of growing together. In the process of raising a cat, you will experience many emotions, and the ultimate reward is companionship and healing. Your little cat can always detect the changes in your emotions at the first time, and play the role of a little angel who rubs and licks you to comfort you.
8. Raise a cat for a day, and miss it for a lifetime. If you have a cat, you may have a second and a third one.
9. Become attached to cats and accompany them for a lifetime. If you choose to accompany them, you must never leave them. It is better not to raise them than to abandon them halfway.
10. If you meet stray cats, feed them scientifically. It is fate to be able to adopt them, and it is destiny if you cannot adopt them. If conditions permit, sterilize them as much as possible to reduce the disorderly reproduction of stray cats and improve the quality of life of cats. We will treat them gently even if their lives are short!
11. It is easy to own a cat, but you have to consider that cats also have the time of birth, aging, illness and death. Do you want to pay the expensive medical expenses? Please think twice before raising a cat.
12. Do as much as you can with your money. Feed your cat with health and nutrition. The type of food and litter you use depends on your financial situation. Raising a cat is a happy thing. Cats raised in poverty are also happy!
13. As long as they are cats, they are all cute. Don’t envy the looks of purebred cats. You get what you pay for. A cheap cat may cost you several times more for medical treatment and medicine, plus you have to worry about it!
14. After having a cat, what occupies your phone memory are beautiful photos of cats, what empties your wallet are cat supplies and snacks, what you snap up on Double Eleven is cat food, and what you miss most during holidays is your cat!
15. I can’t imagine a life without a cat. The blood pressure caused by work pressure can’t be lowered without petting the cat. When you are furious, a “meow” can instantly dissipate it, and the wind and clouds will be light!
16. Some people look glamorous on the surface, but they don’t even have a cat behind them! Just thinking about it makes me feel like a winner in life! Hahaha~
