Update: It’s been about eight or nine months. Now it looks like a middle – aged uncle.
Original answer:
This is the one. I met it at the entrance of my workplace. It was only about one month old at that time, meowing beside the flower bed. I squatted down and said, “Mimi, don’t run around. If you’re still here when I get off work, sister will take you home.”
When I got off work, it was gone. I called out a few times, “Mimi, Mimi the cat.” It ran out from under a car. I decisively caught it and put it in my pocket to take it home.
I live in a workplace dormitory, an old family compound. The floor I’m on has a row of dorm rooms. Before, the gatekeeper uncle found a half – dead cat and gave it to me to raise. I named it Xiaobai, and then this Dragon Li cat was named Xiaohuihui.

When it first came back, it was extremely clingy. Whenever I sat down, it would climb up my pants leg and lie on my lap. When I was sitting reading before going to bed, it would climb onto my shoulder and sleep around my neck. It was such a charming little “troublemaker”.
There was a little episode. About a week after I found it, one day when I came back from work, I searched the entire courtyard but couldn’t find it. Being so small, it must have gotten lost or been caught by someone else. By the fourth day, I had given up hope. I just hoped that whoever found it would treat it well. But on the fifth morning, as I was walking in the corridor without my glasses, a grayish – brown thing suddenly jumped out and rubbed against my foot, scaring me. When I took a closer look, it was my Xiaohuihui. I quickly hugged it and gave it a few affectionate pats. It didn’t seem to have lost weight and looked very energetic. The days it disappeared are still a mystery.
A fascinating sleeping position
Dragon Li cats are really easy to raise. Usually, it eats cat food, pork liver, duck liver, and fish. It doesn’t fight or scramble for food. When it sees Xiaobai meowing loudly, it will lie aside and wait for Xiaobai to finish eating before it eats. Usually, when it has nothing to do, it helps Xiaobai groom its fur and lick its ears.
This was when it broke its leg and was resting in bed at home. At first, it probably thought it was going to die, so it hid and didn’t show itself. I searched for two nights, and finally, it emerged from the green belt by itself. One of its legs was hanging, and it was extremely thin.
When I was about to take it to the hospital, it struggled desperately. I took the opportunity to feel its leg and thought the bone was okay, so I let it recover on its own. It was so finicky that it had to have fish and meat fed to its mouth. It wouldn’t get out of bed to eat by itself. When it needed to poop, it limped to the courtyard. With only three usable legs, it still had to use one paw to dig the soil. It was staggering and seemed about to fall at any moment.
After raising it for about half a month, it could gradually walk on the ground. Then, there was an outbreak of feline distemper in the courtyard. I quickly caught it and gave it an injection of immunoglobulin. I bought a bunch of nutritional paste and other things. Since then, it was confined to the dormitory and not allowed to go out. I bought five test strips to test their feces at any time. I regretted not getting them vaccinated earlier. Fortunately, both of them had strong resistance. More than a month passed safely. Now it’s running wild all over the place. Every night, it catches a mouse and brings it back. Sometimes it eats the mouse when it’s in a good mood, and sometimes it just kills it and leaves it. I have to clean up after them every day. Now Xiaohuihui can only catch small mice.
To add, Dragon Li cats are very obedient. When it goes out to play at night, if I shout in the corridor or on the balcony, “Xiaohuihui, Xiaohuihui~” It will dash back immediately. Just imagine the scene of a dog running back.
Life with a cat is the real life. Hahaha.
