The Heartwarming and Heartbreaking Encounter with a Beloved Cat

The Heartwarming and Heartbreaking Encounter with a Beloved Cat

I found her in a bicycle garage on a heavy snow day. She was an adult cat. When I saw her, she was squatting obediently on someone else’s electric bike seat. As soon as she saw me, she meowed, jumped off the seat, rubbed against my feet, showed all kinds of affection, and from time to time licked the dirty water on the ground. She looked so thirsty and hungry, really pitiful.

At that time, I thought she was a cat lost by someone else. After all, how could a stray cat be so clingy, and she was so clean. So I went home first, got some cat food, a cardboard box, laid some old clothes in it, filled a paper cup with warm water, and then went back to look for her. When I got to the garage, she was gone. I felt extremely disappointed for a moment. I put the things where she had been, and then stood at the door, dazed for a while. Suddenly, I saw her bouncing over from the intersection. I quickly called out, “Mimi~~” When she saw me, she ran towards me cheerfully, rubbing against my feet. I really can’t describe my feelings at that time O(≧▽≦)O

After watching her eat and drink, and then seeing her squat into the cardboard box I prepared for her, I had the urge to take her home. After getting permission from my roommate, I carried her back in that cardboard box.

On the first night at home, she was extremely quiet, neither meowing nor making a fuss. Anyone could pet her, and she slept obediently in the cardboard box. I immediately felt like I had found an incredibly wonderful cat and was overjoyed. Since she had just been brought home and there was nothing cat – related in the house, her toilet – using became a problem. We were all very afraid that she would pee and poop everywhere. However, in fact, she was really smart. She went to our bathroom to relieve herself. She couldn’t use the toilet, so she pooped and peed next to the floor drain beside the toilet, which was convenient for us to clean up.

I originally thought she was always a quiet cat. But after raising her for three days, she started to be a bit naughty. She loved running into the room, always hiding aside and then pouncing on you. She would even open her mouth to bite when you touched her head, but it was all forgiven because she was so cute.

Later, she always liked jumping onto the window and looking outside. Maybe it was because the outside was more free. Since my roommates and I had to go to work during the day, she was left alone at home. The living room was very small, and there were no toys for her. A few more days passed like this. One night when I came back from work, I couldn’t wait to pet her. But when I opened the door, she wasn’t there. I asked my roommate, “Where’s the cat?”

My roommate said, “The cat went out to play.” I couldn’t believe it. How could the cat go out to play? My roommate said that when they came back, the door wasn’t closed properly, and no one noticed that the cat had run out. It had been four or five hours since the cat ran out until I came back. My roommate said she had gone out to look for her but didn’t find her. I said, “I don’t believe it,” and turned around and went out the door again to look for the cat. It was quite cold that night. I searched in the community for over an hour, checking every garage. I found a lot of other stray cats, but not her. After coming back, I cried for a long, long time. I was a bit angry. Why, after giving you a warm home and delicious food, and with everyone spoiling you, did you still run out?
