My Adopted Tabby Cat: From Wild to Affectionate

My Adopted Tabby Cat: From Wild to Affectionate

A few days ago, a little bee flew into the house. And 10 seconds later…

“Oh, a little bee~”

Splat!

Oh no…

I framed the wall that my tabby cat scratched up the other day.

From then on, whenever it scratches randomly, I’ll ask it, “Teacher, are you out sketching and creating again? You’ve worked so hard.”

Apart from being a bit naughty, it’s really easy to take care of. It never gets sick, isn’t picky about food, has a thick skin and doesn’t hold grudges, and is also very clean. Compared with the purebred dogs I used to have, it’s truly a sturdy and durable little cutie.

Although my girl has put on weight after being spayed, she still looks great in photos.

I picked up my tabby cat. When it first came home, it was probably only about 50 days old, but its wild nature was already showing.

How wild was it? It wasn’t just about scratching the sofa or running around. Whenever we took it to the hospital for injections or check-ups, the hospital would say, “Are you bringing it in now? Or would you rather come after 4 pm? That’s when our male doctors are on duty and can hold it down.” I remember when it was less than a year old and went for a vaccination. My husband had something urgent that day. Hearing that we had to wait for 40 minutes, he went to handle his business first and then came back to pick it up. But 40 minutes later, the cat still hadn’t been caught…

It was hiding behind the doctor’s computer. I, the tabby cat, will never give in. So far, it has already bitten through four pairs of the doctor’s gloves…

After spending nearly two years getting along, we got used to each other. It changed from a wild child to a cat that would come out to greet us and roll over to show its belly and act cute when we entered the door. Its belly is also okay to pet.

Of course, it’s happiest when we just pet its head. Humans, don’t push your luck!

Many people say that my tabby cat isn’t cute enough, but I think it’s just independent. I used to think it probably didn’t care much about humans. Later, I found that whenever we went to a different room, it would “happen” to go the same way.

I also feel that it trusts me more and more. A few days ago, a dog guest came to the house. It was very nervous, but as long as it was on my leg, it could fall asleep.

Oh, by the way. It’s also very curious and a plant killer. Cacti are so prickly, but what a nice texture!

All in all, raising a tabby cat is easy, but it requires patience. It has also spent a lot of patience tolerating me petting it. So I guess we’re even.
