Taming the Aloof Dragon Li Cat: Tips and Tricks

As a type of domestic cat, the Dragon Li cat still retains some wild cat genes. These genes endow the Dragon Li cat with an aloof temperament by nature. They neither keep too far away from humans nor get overly close. Everything depends on their mood.

Compared with dogs, cats have been domesticated for a much shorter period. The domestication history of dogs dates back at least 30,000 years, while cats only started to live with humans around 9,500 years ago. The personalities and habits of cats haven’t been fully molded by humans like those of dogs.

The Dragon Li cat is a highly independent feline. It doesn’t need to rely on humans for survival as dogs do. Nor does it show excessive dependence and enthusiasm towards humans like dogs.

Although the Dragon Li cat may seem rather aloof, you can still make it clingy if you master the right methods!

You need to make the Dragon Li cat feel safe and comfortable. Prepare a cozy cat bed, provide sufficient food and water, and let it gradually adapt to the new life in a quiet environment. Don’t force contact with it. Let it approach you on its own.

After the Dragon Li cat starts to adapt to the environment, you can try to gradually make contact with it. You can first feed it by hand to let it get familiar with your hand and smell. Then, try to communicate with it in a gentle voice and avoid shouting or making sudden movements to prevent scaring it.

Taming a Dragon Li cat takes time and you can’t rush it. During the training process, be patient and loving and avoid punishing it. If it makes a mistake, gently correct it and comfort it in a soft voice.

All in all, although the Dragon Li cat may seem aloof, as long as you master the right methods and show enough patience and love, you will surely be able to make it clingy and cute.
