My Adorable and Quirky Dragon Li Cat, July

My Dragon Li cat isn’t aloof at all. Instead, it’s charmingly naive and cute.

Anyway, there are individual differences in cats of any kind.

Moreover, as long as it’s not an adult Dragon Li cat adopted halfway or a relatively large stray Dragon Li cat picked up, it should be fine.

Also, it depends on how you treat it.

My cat, July, is a Dragon Li cat that I adopted not long after it was weaned.

It got familiar with us extremely quickly. After just a few days, it would stick to us every day when going to sleep, always lying sprawled out, just like a little person.

It could be picked up at will. When it was around four or five months old, for a while, it had to lie in my arms and hold my arm to sleep for a while. Otherwise, it would whine for a long time.

Later, after it was neutered and gradually grew up, its temperament became a bit more aloof. It could still be held, but it didn’t like being held for a long time.

And it never sleeps in a proper position. It also allows me to touch it casually, whether it’s the belly, the tail, or anywhere else. When it gets impatient with being petted, it will whine twice to protest.

Every day, after it has slept enough, it will come to me. It secretly sticks out its head to see what I’m doing. It’s so naive.

If it sees that I’m not busy, it will directly squat in front of me with its butt facing me, which means “pet me, pet me quickly”.

It likes to bicker and is quite talkative. If I don’t pay attention to it, it will squat in front of me and whine. If I scold it for doing something wrong, it will talk back, but it won’t attack.

If I pretend to hit it, it will run to the scratching post and bury its head in it, leaving its butt exposed. It buries its head, as if letting me hit it casually. Of course, I don’t really hit it. I just pat its butt gently twice. I just like to see its funny look.

Of course, it also has its own temper. It won’t let people it doesn’t like touch it. If they get close, it will curse. And it’s quite bossy. It bullies the later – adopted tricolor cat in the family, often hugging and biting it for no reason.

It has been four years since I started raising it. It has never been ill and has been growing up obediently and sensibly.
