Usually harmless Mooncat loves to get into boxes, jump high, and go on a running spree.
This cat that has been adopted for several years looks like a Dragon Li cat, but it’s actually a British Shorthair with folded ears.
It has a rather good and stable temperament. No matter how you pet it, it never gets angry. During the pandemic, when the kids were playing with toy guns, the suction-cup bullets would stick to the window, and the cat would be responsible for knocking them down. One played, and the other retrieved the bullets. They had a great time.
When the kids play with the cat, they don’t know their own strength sometimes, and they might be a bit rough. But the cat just runs away and doesn’t hold grudges.
However, the black cat my mom adopted is very vengeful. Whenever it sees someone who has bothered it before, it hisses and extends its claws.
It loves to get into boxes.
There are squirrels in the community. They’re not the cute and lovable kind but extremely fierce. If you leave your window open, they’ll jump into your house and steal your peanuts and melon seeds. The sausages and cured meats my mom dried on the terrace were also eaten by them.
Since nobody drives them away and some people even feed them actively, the squirrels have grown bigger and bigger. They jump around along the trees in the community all day long, running on rooftops and walls. They’ll dash into any house with an open window like invaders.

A female resident even said that the squirrels were so fierce that they weren’t afraid of people at all. When she tried to drive them away, they bared their teeth and growled at her. What’s more, they were so aggressive that her pet cat was beaten up by them.
Until one day, they met my family’s Sea Cucumber.
We open the windows every day. This cat will go out to play by itself, stroll around, and when it’s had enough fun or hears us coming back and opening the door, it will come back on its own.
It’s relatively obedient. Its hobby is watching birds and squirrels. When it sees birds, it will even make a strange sound similar to imitating a bird’s call. It’s extremely focused. Maybe its hunting instinct has awakened.
Because there are all kinds of flowers and plants on the windowsill, and this cat is quite big. When it moves among them, it gives the visual illusion of an ancient behemoth roaming in the forest.
When this cat stands up on its hind legs, it’s almost 1 meter tall and weighs over ten kilograms.
That day, the squirrel that came to steal food encountered it. The squirrel was climbing under the windowsill, and the cat was standing on the windowsill, hissing and arching its back.
And then… the squirrel turned around and fled.
