Dragon Li: The Charming Chinese Native Cat

Dragon Li: The Charming Chinese Native Cat

Sure, you can keep a Dragon Li as a pet. After all, the Dragon Li is native to China, and it has a fancy English name – “Dragon Li”, which was specially given by the CAA Cat Association. Generally speaking, compared with other cat breeds, the Dragon Li has denser, shorter, and coarser fur, which looks very smooth. Take a look at the picture I recently took of the fur of a yellow Dragon Li. Doesn’t it look a bit like a wheat field in the sun at first glance?

Apart from its beautiful fur, the Dragon Li has a well – proportioned body. It has strong limbs and excellent athletic ability, and it seldom gets sick. Also, from nicknames like “Big Orange is King” and “Orange Lord”, we can tell that the yellow Dragon Li is not picky about food and has a strong immune system. Usually, they are not only healthy but even chubby and strong.

I have a female Dragon Li at home. She is a yellow one. Her name is Bao (homophone for “report” in Chinese), short for “Bao Ping’an” (homophone for “report peace” in Chinese). She was born on April 19th, 2019, and now she is over 9 months old. When she acts cute, she coos like a pigeon. I really want to change her name to Bao (homophone for “burst” in Chinese), short for “Bao Kewai” (homophone for “burst with cuteness” in Chinese). The following video shows her forgetting to retract her tongue when she wakes up. Hahaha.

Now she is lying next to me, almost falling asleep. During the Chinese New Year when we went back to our hometown in the countryside, because the self – built house there is quite big, she ran up and down every day, which exhausted her. But when she’s sleepy, she still won’t go back to the room. She must stay by my side. She’s extremely clingy.

The following video shows her calmly fishing for my water cup to drink in front of me. This little one was so full of herself. Everyone, if you plan to keep a cat, you must think it through in advance. Because apart from being cute, cats usually have many bad habits, such as running around at night disturbing people, loving to push all the small things off the table, and when she wakes up, she will also come to pester you to get up. After making mental and material preparations, I hope everyone can have their beloved little cat as soon as possible. By the way, adopt instead of buying.
