The more I raise him, the more I love my tabby cat Doudou (2).

When he was young, he was an energetic young man who would wake us up at 4 or 5 o’clock every morning. Sometimes I would lie on the bed and hug him so that he would not wake up, but he would always look for an opportunity to escape and then wake up again. One time, I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I locked him in the kitchen, which was farthest from the bedroom. After a while, he scratched the kitchen door! He is too energetic. Every day I play hide-and-seek with him, chasing him and me. I also use my husband’s homemade feather and leather cat teasers and laser pens. If I don’t play with him, he will call me beggingly, and if that doesn’t work, he will attack me with his eyes… As soon as I stand up, he will happily turn around and jump up, and turn his ears to the back to listen to whether I am following him… I coax him like a child every day.

The eye attack was like this:

when he was six months old, he was in heat. My husband went to the corridor to smoke and he followed him out. He walked around in the corridor for a while and then ran away. He left home (on the third floor) and fled to the tenth floor. At one o’clock in the middle of the night, my husband and I went upstairs one floor at a time to find him. We found him on the stairs and picked him up and walked back quickly. When we were almost home, he wanted to jump down. I was afraid that I couldn’t hold him and he ran away, so I hit him on the head with my mobile phone. Maybe he was confused by the knock and didn’t struggle… Then he kept howling every day. One night, my husband sat up and punched him. I didn’t know where he hit him. Poor Doudou ran to the living room for a long time without crying. After a while, he probably didn’t feel any pain and came back to cry again… Sometimes the little guy looked big in one eye and small in the other, so I blamed my husband for hitting him!

He had his testicles removed after the Chinese New Year. Sad memories. I found a veterinarian who came to my house to sterilize my baby. It was cheap, clean, and easy. However, when I was hesitant about whether I needed to give him an anti-inflammatory and analgesic injection for a few seconds, the veterinarian decided that I would not give him the injection and left… I regretted it very much because his testicles started to swell on the second or third day. I contacted the veterinarian’s WeChat customer service and they said it was a normal size, but it was not this big before. Fortunately, the swelling went down immediately.

Strong Li Huahua. Also, I did not put Doudou on the ground when he was not awake after the operation. I felt that he was quite cold and thought that putting him on the sofa would warm him up. As a result, he woke up and crawled groggily. He could not control his body and fell down with a thud. Another thing I blame myself for is that I didn’t prepare new cat litter for him in advance as the veterinarian said. I didn’t remember to clean the litter box until he woke up. He was in a hurry to pee, but he ended up peeing in the tray of the litter box, which stained his hind legs. I wiped it for him, but he broke free and jumped on the bed to hide from me. He also didn’t allow me to wear the Elizabethan collar, and struggled desperately. When I approached him, he licked me! The first and only time he licked me so far, I don’t know when the wound was torn, and a little blood came out on the quilt. At night, I used catnip to attract and please him, but I couldn’t get close. After my husband came back, he seemed to have found a backer. He stood by my husband and meowed loudly at me, questioning me… My God! He was just a child! If I could go back in time, I would definitely avoid these things! But now all I can do is be nicer to him.

When Doudou was one year old, he got stones. He kept meowing to tell me about his pain, and kept squatting in the litter box, but he couldn’t urinate much. I searched online for information and read other people’s experiences and comments. Finally, I decided to treat it myself. I was afraid that the hospital was not clean, that he would be scared, and that the doctor would order surgery without considering the specific situation.

As long as he did not have urinary retention, he did not need to go to the hospital. However, it would take a month to take medicine. I bought Chinese medicine granules for humans. I fed him medicine twice a day. After using a box, my husband bought stone capsules for pets online. This was more convenient and did not require flushing. However, after the little guy took it a few times, he became familiar with my routine of feeding medicine. As soon as I let go, he spit it out. I could only patiently pinch his mouth for a while to smooth his throat. A large plate seemed to have 60 capsules. After using them up, he was fine. A month finally passed. Don’t mention how happy I was when I saw the piles of cat litter and poop!
