Some friends asked me if I could take over the painting of their cats. I had never thought of this before! Thank you for your encouragement. I have only been learning watercolor for a short time and I still have a lot of room for improvement. I dare not ruin the beauty of everyone’s precious cats.

This painting was made when I was sitting on the windowsill of my home during the worst period of the epidemic last year. We in Wuhan were all trapped at home. I painted something every day to fight against the impending collapse of emotions. At that time, the cat was also pregnant. I went to the unit to feed it every once in a while, because I was not sure whether cats could spread the virus at that time. I took pictures of it through the glass. It was not easy for it to guard such a large unit.

I not only painted it, but also painted a cat at a little girl’s home. The original picture was from her circle of friends. Here is the charming silhouette of Brother Tiechui. Thank you for your likes. I never expected that more than 4,000 people would like it. Thanks again for your love!

Many friends left messages suggesting that it should be sterilized, saying that if it is not done, it may have endless offspring and grandchildren, filling the garden. According to my observation, this situation has not happened. Without excessive human intervention, the number of cats maintains a dynamic balance.

These are the four kittens from its last litter. Judging from the fur color, its husband is fixed, although this black-haired scumbag has never raised a family. None of these four little guys survived. The specific reason is unclear. One day, a little black one left, and it brought it to my garden and cried. I heard the sound and went to see, which was a bit shocking. I quickly took a shovel and went to the heather not far away to bury it. It was sad for two days, crying and not eating, which was worrying. After these two days, it returned to its previous state.

If someone takes the kitten to be vaccinated, the survival rate will definitely be high. Without human intervention, the life and death of the kitten is determined by fate. So the cats in our unit are always the same few.

For example, this one is the only one that survived from its last litter. The last litter left only one hawksbill turtle, which is extremely timid and basically does not interact with humans. The three of them manage several buildings in front and behind our unit in an orderly manner.

Cats have a strong sense of territory. If there is an intruder, the tabby lady is not a vegetarian. On November 8 last year, I went to the garden to weed and heard a cat wailing in the bushes. Following the sound, I found a fat orange, huddled in a hidden place, howling in pain. I called it out and brought it some food. It seemed to understand, came out, and cried to me that its tail was broken and the blood had not dried yet. It was so pitiful. Before I had time to comfort the fat orange, the tabby lady suddenly jumped out and squatted not far away to see what I wanted to do. I gave half of the food to the tabby lady, but she didn’t even look at it, staring at the fat orange, with contempt in her eyes and anger in her nose. The fat orange was very sad, and he didn’t dare to eat or move, because his tail would hurt if he moved. I squatted between the two cats, mediating between them. Without guessing, I knew that the tail of Fat Orange must have been bitten off by Li Hua.

Later, I thought I had to lead Li Hua away so that Fat Orange could eat something. I stood up and walked away, and Li Hua followed me, and kept following me until I walked several hundred meters away, still worried.

Later, I never saw Fat Orange again, probably because it chased him away. The world of cats is well-ordered.
