How to “beat” a cat into submission (1)
As someone who has raised cats for five years, I would like to share how to “beat” a cat into submission
. Many people do not have a correct grasp of the educational method of “beating a cat”. Either you beat it
too hard, which leaves a psychological shadow on the cat and makes it keep a distance of one meter from you in the future.
Or you beat it too lightly, which is like tickling
it. Or the timing of beating is wrong. It made a mistake, but you didn’t punish it until half a day later. In the eyes of the cat, if you are not a psychopath, who is the psychopath?
Before I teach you how to “beat a cat”, remember that beating a cat is a means of education, not a way of abusing or violent behavior! If you beat a cat to vent your emotions or to vent your violent nature, you are born as a human being but do not do human things. You will not have a good end. That’s what I said.
The correct methods and techniques of “beating a cat” are as follows:
① Punishment needs to be timely: If a cat makes a mistake, it must be punished immediately. Don’t say a few minutes, even a few tens of seconds will not work. After a few tens of seconds, to the cat, your beating is unreasonable, inexplicable, and unpredictable.
② The force should be moderate: Don’t hit too hard or too lightly. When you pat a cat with your hand, it’s like you pat your own hand. The hand being patted can feel a little pain. Don’t hit a cat. Hitting a cat is cat abuse.

③ The part should be appropriate. Generally, I hit the hind legs, near the buttocks, because even if you don’t control the force, it won’t be hurt. If it bites, then hit the mouth, not the nose.
④ Remember to repair the relationship afterwards: After half an hour, you can happily take delicious food or fun things to repair the relationship, because some cats are very vindictive, you have to learn to take the initiative to show goodwill. After
talking about the correct “cat beating” skills, I want to say that I personally do not recommend this kind of punishment measure!!
For humans, we often hear the saying: “No beating, no success”, but cats are different from humans. The smartest cat is only equivalent to the IQ of a three or four-year-old human child. If you only use “beating” as a means of education, then the cat you raise may be like this:
① Timid and unconfident: Afraid of people, even very afraid of people, an unconfident cat, timid. Don’t trust you, because you don’t know when you will beat him. Basically, say goodbye to the clingy team.
② Long-term high-pressure environment and accumulated stress may make cats in a sub-healthy state or sick.
③ Fear and even aggressive behavior
④ When you are not around, cats may not change their bad habits, pooping everywhere, scratching the sofa, scratching people…
We raise cats in the hope of establishing a close and deep emotional connection with them, rather than just raising a cat without emotional communication and connection, which is no different from raising a QQ pet. Therefore, when educating cats, we can adopt a better method: mainly reinforcement, and punishment is only used as an auxiliary method occasionally.
