As a seller, I seem to have more right to say this, because I have handled nearly a hundred cats. Although they are mainly British Shorthair cats, many parents have second children. They had an American Shorthair cat at home before or are planning to raise another one, but the general response is that

American Shorthair cats are too naughty!

They all complain to me about how quiet their own British Shorthair cats are, while American Shorthair cats never stop running from east to west and from cats to north!

In terms of body shape, American Shorthair cats are mainly patterned, with clear back patterns

and agile bodies, domineering appearance, green eyes and butterfly patterns, and are not particularly chubby. It is also difficult to grow into the body shape of British Shorthair cats. British Shorthair cats pay more attention to overall development, which is related to their own personality and history. British Shorthair cats were used as a marching cat to follow the army to control rat infestation and protect food. They were deliberately grown to be huge, so that they are more powerful. Because they follow the army, they must maintain good spleen hair, big heads and round faces, gentle and calm, friendly to people, and very easy to raise. The big, round eyes appear in various colors depending on the coat.

Cats with active personalities are naturally stronger, such as American Shorthair cats,

and those with calm personalities are fatter, such as British Shorthair cats.

Does breed have anything to do with friendliness to people?

Actually, not really.

Any purebred cat association will list personality as a very important factor when judging the excellence of a cat. If a cat is very affectionate, the judge will like it very much. If a cat shows a tendency to attack or even bites the judge, the judge will sentence the cat to death.

As a pet cat, a purebred cat, a stable personality is also very important. This is also the general direction of our breeding. A stable and excellent appearance and a gentle personality are also very indispensable qualities for a companion cat.

The friendliness of all cats comes from the cultivation of the kittens by the seller when they are just beginning to explore the world. and the sound lingered in my ears for three days and three nights, because he was afraid, innately, he had been afraid since he was a child, but after I petted him day and night, he has become someone I can pet at will.

The reason why cats are not allowed to be held is not because they have a cold personality, because in the cat’s social life, holding them is not a way for them to express friendliness and love. In the eyes of cats, being held = restricted movement and invasion of space.

In the cat’s cognition, humans are too big. Unlike dogs, they are pleasing pets. They pay more attention to their own psychological safety awareness, so they have the habit of hiding if they are not touched or held. Biting and scratching people is also because of fear. At this time, a good breeder or cattery owner will spend more time and patience to resolve this fear. After long-term contact, the cat’s personality will improve. It knows that humans will feed it and play with it, so it will naturally let down its guard.

Every time I hold it, I will comfort it. It will look at me seriously and remember me. It is a cumulative process of memory and division of dangerous information. In the later stage, it will form dependence or respond to you, actively rub its feet to ask for touch, and roll around with its feet, because it recognizes you from the heart and thinks you are a friend.

This process is difficult to make up for after going to a new home. External stimulation makes it more difficult for shy cats to trust humans. Generally, new parents will be eager to approach cats, which will hurt them invisibly. So why some people get cats with good personalities while some are timid, and even scratch people, which is caused by the environment over the years.

Some unreliable merchants use pet cats for profit. Apart from feeding and cleaning, they don’t take the trouble to get in touch with or understand each cat. Because in their eyes, cats are tools, tools to make money, without emotions. Cats are born with sensitivity, so they are instinctively afraid.

Rather than saying that there are differences in friendliness among breeds, it is better to try to find a reliable seller who often spends a lot of time with cats, such as my family!! Putting Easter eggs!!

But they are really not afraid of my dog, they stick to it all day long! They are not afraid of the dog! They rub against it every day silently. I feel like I am redundant.
