Compared with other cat breeds, the price is a little expensive. The mainstream two-color Ragdoll sold by regular family catteries (not cat dealers) on the market.

The pet grade is about 3500 to 15,000. The breeding grade is generally between 15,000 and 100,000.

How do you usually set the price? Let me give you an example from our cattery.

Haishuang pet-grade small male cat 7000

This pet-grade small male cat is very sweet. The eye color is also OK.

But there are two small shortcomings: 1. The right ear has a little white ear edge. 2. The left and right mask openings are slightly off. So we set the price at 7K (free one month of cat food, freeze-dried, and free return within one month if there are health problems).

Haishuang small male 7000

This Haishuang small male cat. There is a small color block on the hind legs, but the mask opening is small. The sweetness is slightly lower. With the current aesthetic trend, this type is no longer suitable for breeding. So the price is 7000 pet grade.

Haishuang Xiaogong 1.2W

This Haishuang Xiaogong. The maple leaf face mask is symmetrical. The eye color and hair volume are also OK. So we set the price at 1.2W.

The three cats above have great differences and distinctions. I believe that people who don’t understand can roughly distinguish them based on their facial features and sweetness.

Second, gastrointestinal problems.

Ragdoll cats have weaker stomachs than other breeds of cats. For example, we normally make a nutritious meal of boiled chicken breast for cats every day. Occasionally, we change it to duck meat for one day, and some cats can’t stand it, and their stools are soft and they have diarrhea.

Ragdoll cats are large cats, and the little guys are quite eatable. So novice parents should pay attention. Dietary problems. Be sure to pay attention to switching cat food, or feeding something that cats have never eaten (such as canned food, raw meat), etc. Our cattery is now mainly cat food with freeze-dried food and occasional boiled chicken breast as a snack. With this combination, the cats grow very well and rarely have diarrhea.

Third, hair loss problems.

Ragdolls are long-haired cats. Basically, cats have the problem of shedding. Seasonal changes or high temperatures can cause hair loss. There is no good way to solve this problem. Cats with good genes can shed less hair. In addition, the temperature is kept constant all year round, between 23 and 25 degrees, which can also alleviate the problem of hair loss.

The picture above is my “Mulan”, which has good genes in the traditional line. The father is CFA in the 2017-2018 season, CFA Super Champion GC title, BWC title, Ragdoll single breed ranked first in China, CFA 2017-2018 NW title (National Winner) ranked 17th among all breeds. Compared with other bloodline cats, it does shed much less.

Some Ragdolls have genetic disease genes, such as polycystic kidney disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and progressive retinal atrophy. Genetic testing can be done. The breeding males and females with genetic disease genes can be excluded from the breeding plan, which is not a big problem.

Apart from the above three problems, I think Ragdolls have almost no obvious disadvantages. The rest are cuteness, clinginess, high appearance, and many other advantages.
