The sad story of my ragdoll cat (1)
I can only say that I am lucky I didn’t give up~ But it was not easy
. I experienced soft poop and stepping on poop, ear mites, scars from scratching, a little ringworm, and blood in the stool. Now it is 14.7 kg, soft, cute, clingy, and fat. My mother is really sad.
Sad story~
Part 1 Soft poop and stepping on poop
I brought it home on the evening of March 8th and named it Mario. The next day, it started to have soft poop. I thought it was stress from the new environment, so I let it adapt first. During this period, it stepped on poop all over the place, so it was nicknamed the poop stepping king. Every time it pooped, my husband and I would block it, wipe its butt, and wash its paws.
The first day the cat came,
it pooped three or four times a day, no matter how much it ate. When it pooped in the middle of the night, I would squat and wipe its butt. After wiping it, I must wash my hands, which made the back of my hands red and dry. In Northeast dialect, it is called “hand fanning”. I tried wearing gloves, but when I put on the gloves, the cat would take the opportunity to jump out of the litter box and step on the feces. The scene was too suffocating.

Later, my husband’s cousin came (the cat was bought from his cousin’s cattery) and fed montmorillonite powder, which was somewhat effective, but the cat still had poop more often, and was very greedy. The cat would grab anything we ate. I asked a friend, and the friend said that her cat was not very interested in human food. WHAT??? The cat didn’t like to eat the montmorillonite powder
that occupied my husband’s cup
, and we, as novices, didn’t dare to pry open the kitten’s mouth to feed it. I changed to Mommy Love, but the effect was not obvious. The cat can eat and poop, and is full of energy, and doesn’t look sick. Because of the epidemic, the pet hospital was not open. My husband’s cousin said that the problem was not big, so we observed it first.
About a month later, the pet hospital opened, and I took it to the examination. The doctor said that it was infected with Trichomonas. It is possible that it ate raw seafood? This is impossible, because we have cooked shrimps and the remaining cooked shrimp heads were thrown away directly. (Later I thought it might be because I ate frozen-dried capelin and quail, but it was just a guess. I didn’t dare to eat this frozen-dried food again after seeing the doctor.) The doctor prescribed medicine for the
frozen-dried food that seemed to be problematic
. After taking it, it really worked. The cat’s stool gradually took shape. Half a month later, one day, the stool became soft again. I rushed to the hospital. After the doctor tested it, he said that there was no trichomonas in the body. He prescribed medicine for us to go home and continue to observe. He also said that some cats are born with weak stomachs. If they are still not cured, they may have soft stools for life!!!
At that time, I wanted to give up for the first time. Fortunately
, the cat was not so fragile. After taking the medicine, it got better. This time, it was not greedy anymore. It had a fixed bowel movement once or twice a day. After hearing the introduction from a friend, I also bought probiotics on Taobao and occasionally added them to the cat food to regulate the stomach.
From squatting at the door of the cat litter box every time it pooped, to sitting on the sofa and watching it poop, to not having to care about it at all, the problem of soft stools was finally bye bye, and the old mother and father shed tears.
