My Border Collie bit a poodle half a month ago
. The cause of this incident was that I didn’t tie the dog up. My Border Collie, a Corgi and a Lapig were playing on a large lawn in the community where no one was around. Then an old man showed up with a poodle. My Border Collie and the poodle stared at each other for a while, more than 20 meters apart. The poodle barked, and the Border Collie rushed up silently and bit it.
Because I didn’t tie the dog up, I immediately went over to admit my mistake and said I would compensate. I was in a hurry to go to work in the morning, so I asked the old man to take the dog to the hospital first. In the morning, I called to inquire about the poodle’s condition. The old man said it was very serious. He told the hospital that he should just euthanize it. The hospital said it hadn’t reached that stage yet. I said you should actively treat it and I would bear the cost. The old man asked me to go to the hospital to see if it was still curable. I was a little scared when I put down the phone, thinking that it was bitten on the internal organs or bones. I went to the hospital after work, but I didn’t see the owner of the poodle. The poodle didn’t do anything from morning to noon because I didn’t go to the hospital. The poodle was bitten three times. The hospital said that the dog was eight years old and had never had a physical examination. Because it needed anesthesia, it had to be examined first, then the wounds were cleaned and sutured. Then I prepaid 2,000 yuan and called the owner of the poodle to report it.

I think this poodle is pitiful. It didn’t know that its owner had thought of euthanizing it because of the flesh wounds, and its owner was afraid that no one would bear the cost and left it alone for the first few hours after the injury.
My Border Collie is quite vindictive. When the poodle met my Border Collie when it was a few months old, it kept barking and didn’t tie the leash. I tied the leash except when I let it go when playing with other dogs. At that time, my dog had just started to socialize, and was scared by the momentum of the poodle and dragged me around. The poodle chased and barked behind, and the owner laughed at it. I was young and angry at the time, and turned around and yelled at the dog to get out. My Border Collie probably thought that the owner also hated the poodle. All this caused my Border Collie to hate the poodle.
So I admitted my mistake and paid compensation, but I didn’t blame my dog. I should feel good to be able to take revenge now. Even if I was beaten by the poodle owner when I bit the poodle, I should feel happy.
After this incident, the one who used to play with me was the most sad, because I never let go of my dog and run with her.
The follow-up is that the hospital notified me that I have to pay 400 medical expenses. I plan to ask for a detailed cost list.
