A 2-month-old golden retriever is a naughty kid.
2 months? That’s a naughty kid. What can I do? I have to keep raising it even if I have to bear the pain of losing my teeth and bleeding.
Let me emphasize: this paragraph is my personal opinion. It is wrong. Please don’t criticize me. Please understand. I have seen too many dogs abandoned halfway through raising them for various reasons. So for those friends who have ideas and like dogs, I suggest you think about it before raising them. You will encounter many things in the process. Can you do not abandon or give up? If the environment and conditions are not mature, don’t raise them first. Do you think I am talking about the money you lack to raise a dog? NO, NO, modern life is stressful and busy, and the tolerance of dogs in the city is not particularly strong. Many times, what is lacking is tolerance, patience, and tolerance. I also built up a sense of responsibility for myself while raising dogs. In short, be cautious when raising dogs.
The picture below was taken when it was exactly 2 months old, and it looked relatively well-behaved. The picture
below was taken during the awkward period, when it was 5 months old…
My family took it home when it was 50 days old, and when it was more than 2 months old, it was really a bloody mess. At this time, it loved to bite the flowers, plants, and succulents in the house, as well as the doormats. It was always chewing on them. Later,
all the mats in the house were put away. Should I be glad that it didn’t bite shoes or socks? During this period, it had not learned to poop in a fixed place or anything like that, and it always pooped at the door… The dog cage and urine pot were clearly there, but it just wouldn’t go. I tried everything, even smearing mustard on the places where it liked to poop, but it didn’t work. I tried all kinds of experiments.

Here comes the point: Later we bought dog pee pads and old newspapers, and spread them in the places where it likes to poop, and it really did it there. After a few times, we moved the newspapers and diapers to its cage. Oh, it worked. In this way, it learned to urinate and defecate in the cage. Well, our family raises dogs freely, and it doesn’t sleep in a cage. Because I was a novice dog owner, there were many things I didn’t know, so I just followed what I saw on the Internet. Later I realized that I had to figure it out on my own. I shouldn’t have bought a cage earlier. The huge cage for large dogs is now idle…
When it was more than 3 months old, we started to try to take it outdoors for a walk and poop, and then it learned to hold its poop, and it had to be outdoors and refused to go home. Of course, it would still pee in the cage.
During this period, it will still chew things, such as doormats, flowers and plants, probably because it is itching, but it will not destroy the house or anything, because we will strictly stop it. For example, if it chews chair legs, it will be slapped in the face. We must catch it and educate it on the spot. We must educate it loudly and severely, and slap it in the face. Don’t be soft-hearted. It doesn’t understand anything. It probably only knows that if it bites something that is not allowed, it will be slapped in the face. After being slapped many times, it will know what it can’t chew and what it can chew a little. Also, during this period, it likes to rummage through the paper towels in the trash can. This is something that won’t change after being taught several times, so we just replaced it with a lid, which is easier. Now that it has grown up, we have also bought a lidless trash can at home, but it has ignored the trash can.
By the way, it is now grown up and very well behaved. It is a real warm-hearted man. It does not destroy the house, does not make trouble, is clingy, and loves to act like a spoiled child. There are unpacked express packages on the ground all day because I am not at home and have not cleaned them up. It does not bite randomly and even once dislikes blocking its way. Except for taking a walk, it sleeps all day long. Sleeping …
(I will stop here first. I am busy. If anyone sees it, I will update it later.) The following picture is when it was just 50 days old when it was brought back. The older one is about 1 and a half years old (about 80 pounds) …… … I…can’t hold it anymore, but I can still beat it in a fight, because it will let me… Hehe, this is to let it bask in the sun to supplement calcium, but it’s a pity that it can’t stay in the sun for long and is afraid of the sun. It’s a clingy dog, it follows you wherever you go, and it must lie at the feet of the computer desk. This is really its favorite sleeping position, a mysterious sleeping position, it always likes to sleep on its belly. I’ll stop here for now, if anyone wants to watch, I’ll post some more videos, haha. Time dividing line… Today is February 2, 2023, and the dog will be 6 years old in 3 months. I hope time can go slower and slower.
