Due to my job and my personality, I like quietness, staying at home, and driving along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, so I have raised many dogs, including Scottish shepherds, huskies, Rottweilers, Caucasians, Tibetan mastiffs, golden retrievers, Teddy bears, etc. Among them, the Scottish shepherd has “died of old age” and the husky has “disappeared”. The current Tibetan mastiff and Rottweiler are almost twelve years old, the Caucasian is nine years old, and the golden retriever male is seven years old/female is almost two years old.
I raised so many dogs. At the beginning, I “was in a whim”, then I “was forced to do it”, then I “got used to it”, and finally “became close to my family”. Each stage is closely related to myself.
Since the topic is about “golden retrievers”, I will focus on them.
Every beautiful companion cannot do without the careful company of its owner.
In 2013, I ended my 11-year working life and chose to start a business in Guangzhou – opening a Taobao store. Due to industry and entrepreneurial reasons, I stayed in the studio almost from morning to night, doing “daily operations” during the day, “packaging and shipping” at night, and “data optimization” late at night. I was like a robot and very lonely.
I wanted to bring my dog from my hometown to my side, but I gave up because I thought it was not convenient for a “fierce dog”. It was also a coincidence that a “model” from Foshan who I met at work posted a selfie during a “test shoot”. I immediately decided to raise a golden retriever! How cute it is, how big its eyes are, round and full of spirit, which deeply attracted me.
So, I asked a friend to buy a so-called noble golden retriever male from a kennel in Guangdong for 20,000 yuan. Because I didn’t have enough cash, I gave it to this friend in four months.
To be honest, I don’t know much about dogs, and I didn’t plan to buy such an expensive dog; but through the basic “pedigree certificate”, “bloodline certificate”, “competition photos”, etc., I respect everyone’s labor results and value, so I paid for it.
Later, I took it to several competitions, but that’s another story.
The puppy is “golden”, the kind with milk yellow color, very lively, cute and naughty, so I call it “Gold”; later, when friends kept repeating it, they always misunderstood it as “sperm”, so I changed it to a more understandable name: Big Yellow Dog.
Sometimes, some friends ask, what is the name of your dog, I answer Big Yellow Dog; friends ask, yes, what is the name of the big yellow dog? I say it’s called Big Yellow Dog. My friends were immediately speechless.
Raising a dog is no less than raising a child.
In our world, we can come into contact with many people, colleagues, classmates, friends, family, etc., while they only come into contact with us. We also have a lot of entertainment activities, while they only wait for us to come home every day; so, if you are not ready and determined to raise a dog, I really don’t recommend raising a dog.
