I’ve decided to update the growth of my dear cat, Xiao 11, from time to time. Let’s take a look at his journey so far.
On December 6, 2017, Xiao 11 had just turned two months old. He was incredibly smart right from the start. When he first came to my home, his bed was all set up, but he wasn’t used to sleeping in it. Every time he came out, I would gently pat his head as a way to correct his behavior. I stood guard and did this two or three times, and surprisingly, he stopped coming out of his bed. Instead, he would curl up and sleep with his little paws tucked in, looking extremely cute. Seeing him so well – behaved, I couldn’t resist covering him with a “quilt”, which was actually one of my old clothes.

Xiao 11 is also extremely clingy. When I’m at home, he constantly demands attention. Sometimes, he gets overly excited and starts running around the house like a little tornado, engaging in his own version of “parkour”. But as soon as he sees me sitting down, he rushes over and sticks to me like glue. His favorite spot to be is on my shoulder. When I stroke him, he looks so content and relaxed, as if he’s in a world of his own.
When I take him out for a stroll, he’s not satisfied with just being held. He insists on standing on my shoulder for a while, and then he’ll wriggle his way into my hat, where he can even fall asleep soundly. It’s both funny and endearing to see him so at ease in such unique places.
However, recently he’s started to show his naughty side. Yesterday, when I got home from work, I found that he had hidden the TV remote control under the sofa. In the evening, while I was trying to sleep, I heard him rummaging through the pockets on the coffee table in the living room. I went out, picked him up, and gently patted him a few times, trying to make him understand that this behavior was not allowed. I even took a picture of the coffee table before going back to sleep to see if he would remember. To my surprise, when I woke up the next morning, the coffee table was in the exact same state as I had left it. He’s really an intelligent little fellow.
I’ve attached some photos of him. In one photo, when I tried to take a picture of him, he squinted his eyes, gave me a quick look, and then, without a word, turned his head away. It was as if he was saying, “I’m not in the mood for this right now!”
——— Update on December 20, 2017
Recently, Xiao 11 has learned how to climb onto the bed. He seems to think he’s human, acting as if the bed is his own personal territory.
On January 10, 2018, and again on January 17, 2018, Xiao 11 continued to grow and explore his world, with new adventures and antics every day. But then, unfortunately, he got sick. Taking him to the vet for blood tests and then trying to administer medicine to him was a truly painful experience, both for him and for me. Watching him endure the discomfort of being sick and the procedures at the vet broke my heart. I did my best to comfort him, holding him close and speaking softly to him. Every day, I made sure he had his medicine on time, even though it was a struggle to get him to take it. I was constantly worried about his condition, checking on him frequently to see if he was getting better. Despite the challenges, I knew that I had to be strong for him and do everything in my power to help him recover. I’m looking forward to the day when he’s back to his lively, mischievous self, running around the house and bringing joy to every corner of my home.
