My Charming Siamese Cats: A Source of Endless Delight

My Charming Siamese Cats: A Source of Endless Delight

As someone with rather particular preferences, I’ve never been fond of the over – exuberant nature of dogs or the aloofness of typical cats. However, all that changed when I started raising Siamese cats. I discovered a whole new world of feline charm and fell head over heels in love with this breed! It’s truly astonishing how such a perfect creature exists in the world.

In my family, we have quite a few Siamese cats. The mother cat was a stray that we took in when I was in my first year of high school. Her eyes are a beautiful lake – blue color, captivating anyone who looks into them. Her eldest son, Tank, lives with us. Among all the Siamese cats, Tank has the best temper, but unfortunately, he’s also the least intelligent. (This is truly an objective assessment, not an attempt to disparage my dear pet.) The second son, Bell, lives with my sister. He’s as light as a swallow and extremely agile, capable of leaping and bounding around with ease. The third son, Little Black, lives with an uncle. He’s a happy, plump cat, leading a carefree life.

Let me share some pictures with you. This is a photo of Tank and Bell when they were little. Back then, their activity area was limited to the bed, so I could still manage to take a photo of them when they were still. But once their exploration expanded to the floor, taking a photo became an extremely challenging task. It was as difficult as climbing the sky. The evidence is as shown in the pictures. Siamese cats are lively and active from a very young age. Every day at home, I have to walk around with great caution. You never know when a furry little “madcap” will suddenly rush out from a corner, running wildly across the floor at an astonishing speed.

Of course, playing always comes with risks. Once, Tank, due to his excessive running speed and poor eyesight (the main reason), crashed head – on into the glass door of the kitchen. This accident left him with a lifelong “disability” – he became cross – eyed. But fortunately, aside from a minor impact on his otherwise handsome appearance, he’s fine. He’s a true practitioner of the saying “no zuo no die.” The degree of his cross – eyedness is as shown in the picture.

Siamese cats are extremely clingy. Every night, they must sleep in the same bed as their owners. Except in summer, they will definitely burrow under the covers! Even when they’re already sound asleep, they insist on wiggling their way in, and once inside, they have to snuggle up against you. Sometimes, they even lie on my pillow, facing me, sharing the same breath and fate. (They even smack their lips in their sleep when they’re really enjoying it.) They get more excited the more people there are, truly being the life of the party. Previously, when our house was undergoing partial renovation and there were workers painting the walls, Tank would stand on the worker’s feet while the worker was standing on a stool. He always heads towards where there are more people.

They have an endearing and extremely good – natured appearance. Since their birth, more than two years have passed, and they have never bitten or scratched anyone. No matter how rough – and – tumble the playtime is, they never get angry. This characteristic is really likable. They also have a strange fondness for eating green plants. All the flowers and plants in our house, except for the cacti, have been “tasted” by my cats. I really don’t know why my Siamese cats have this strange habit. Maybe they lack the “wood” element in the five – element theory…?

Surprisingly, they’re afraid of babies. During the holidays, when my one – year – old niece came to play at home, my cats first froze in place when they saw her, and then, with lightning speed, hid under the bed. It’s really shocking! These fearless cats are actually afraid of a little baby. Later, when they finally came out to meet the niece, they quickly retreated back under the bed. Perhaps they had never seen a human being of this “model” before and were a bit scared.

They’re extremely curious. In Northeastern Chinese dialect, they’re “nosy.” Whenever there’s a sound outside, they immediately rush over to take a look. If there weren’t window screens blocking them, they would really jump out. Just look at this picture of them secretly observing… Look at that sturdy back.

In conclusion, having such wonderful Siamese cats is truly a blessing I’ve accumulated from my past life. They are truly healing and adorable pets, well – worth having. This is my first answer on Zhihu. I’m so excited! If there are any flaws, please feel free to offer your advice. Love you all.
