On the long road of life, we will always encounter some special little lives inadvertently. My encounter with the Siamese cat in my family is a wonderful fate full of surprises and warmth.
It was on April 24th. I was idly browsing on Xianyu. Suddenly, I saw an adoption message for a Siamese cat posted by a cat owner in Hefei. Out of curiosity, I asked about the price. The price of 888 yuan was within my acceptable range, and a glimmer of excitement welled up in my heart. After adding the cat owner’s WeChat, at first, I felt a bit regretful. I was worried that I was just acting on impulse and seeking momentary novelty. I replied to the other party somewhat slowly, with hesitation filling my heart.
The cat owner asked eagerly, and I was too embarrassed to directly refuse. So, I started asking for videos and pictures of the cat. During this period, I was still undecided, finding it difficult to determine whether to bring this little cat home. Until I saw several videos sent by the cat owner. The cat in the videos was naughty and cute, jumping around in a very adorable way. I was immediately deeply attracted to it. Learning that the cat was raised at home and the cat owner’s family condition was good, I believed that the cat’s health should be in good condition. In this way, from getting to know the cat owner to finalizing the adoption, it only took 15 minutes. I quickly arranged a ride – sharing car and was looking forward to welcoming this new member the next day.
In less than a day, the little cat arrived home smoothly. However, my father and I had been in a cold war since February 29th this year because of a quarrel. I knew well that my father didn’t like pets and was very worried that he couldn’t accept this little cat. So, at first, I could only let the little cat stay in my room all the time. When the little cat arrived home, it was less than two months old. It was surprisingly quiet, not making a sound, just constantly sniffing around, as if trying hard to get familiar with this new environment. Surprisingly, in less than an hour, it allowed me to gently stroke it. At that moment, I felt its trust in me.
In order to let my father know about the little cat, at six o’clock in the morning the next day, I posted a Moments. Coincidentally, at six o’clock, the little cat also started meowing. It had slept closely next to my arm all night. I quickly took a picture of it when I got up early. On this day, because I had to write a thesis, the little cat obediently lay on my lap all the time. Sometimes it would step on the keyboard, being very clingy and seemingly unable to leave me for a moment. As soon as I left, it would keep meowing. After getting familiar with my room, it began to show its lively side, running around the house happily. On the same day, the cat litter box I prepared for it arrived, and I carefully filled it with new cat litter.
On the third day, I summoned up the courage to carry it to the living room and took pictures of it. It slept most of the day, which surprised me as I had never raised a cat before. I didn’t know that cats slept so much. However, it sneezed from time to time, and its eyes were watery, which made me very worried that it had feline calicivirus. So, I searched for a long time on Baidu and looked for suitable medicines on Taobao. Fortunately, the next day, its condition improved significantly. During this period, I constantly learned through Baidu what cats can and cannot eat, trying my best to provide the best care for it.
On the fourth day, I still took pictures of it. On this day, it seemed extremely happy because I cooked it some mantis shrimps and fed it chicken breast. Looking at it eating with relish, my heart was filled with joy. It also especially liked the collar I prepared for it. The texture was soft and very comfortable.
As time passed, by the sixth day, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had grown a lot. Now, its daily life consists of sleeping and playing fetch games with me. It especially likes to stay on the computer keyboard. Perhaps it’s really because there is an air vent there and it’s warmer. Every day spent with it is full of warmth and joy. It has already become an indispensable part of my life, allowing me to experience the fun and responsibility of pet – raising.
