In the time spent with the Siamese cat Chuochuo, the days seem to be infused with magic, full of surprises and joys. On New Year’s Day in 2019, I joyfully celebrated Chuochuo’s first – birthday. At this time, Chuochuo has grown from the ignorant and tender little brother to a majestic “big brother”.
Looking back, when Chuochuo was still a four – month – old blue – pointed kitten, its strong curiosity was impressive. It would never allow me to disappear from its sight. It was really like a little tail. If it couldn’t hug my thigh, it would hold my calf tightly all the way, looking extremely cute. At that time, it had no air of aloofness and alertness at all. It was more like a silly little boy. It often bumped into things because of its recklessness, making a “duang duang” sound, and then it would look up blankly, which made people laugh. When it first came home, it was well – behaved and gentle, looking like a shy little girl. I could even tie a cute little ponytail for it. It especially liked to occupy the keyboard, as if it was its exclusive territory.
As time went by, Chuochuo continued to grow and unlocked more “secret bases” in the house. The top of the microwave, the washing machine, and the window sill all became its favorite sleeping places. Its personality has also become more and more mature. It is no longer as frightened as before by some sudden sounds. Now, its personality is becoming more and more like that of a little dog. Every day when I come home from work, as soon as I reach the door, I can see it excitedly greeting me. It will immediately perform the a cute way of asking for attention. It rubs its little head against my leg and then lies down on the ground, looking at me affectionately with its eyes, indicating that I should pet it. Whenever I prepare cat food for it, it is so anxious that it keeps barking and circles around me, making it almost impossible for me to move. I really don’t know what it’s so excited about all day.
Interestingly, Chuochuo also has a special love for the NBA. Perhaps it is also a fan of the basketball superstar KD. A few days ago, we received a small gift of cat food from Purina. This little guy was extremely excited. When I was typing, it kept harassing me, biting my hand, as if expressing its joy.
During the process of growing up, Chuochuo also encountered some small accidents. There is a small window near the head of my bed that connects to the balcony. I always close the window at night when sleeping for fear that it will make trouble. But it knocks on the glass persistently every night. Sometimes, when I open a small crack and reach out to pet it a few times, it leaves contentedly. But one day, it forced its way through the window and accidentally fell into the bedroom, spraining its foot. Its miserable screams woke me up in the middle of the night. At that moment, I felt both distressed and helpless. However, since then, we have started to sleep together, and it has become more and more dependent on me.
Chuochuo’s face has gradually darkened as it grows. Some people say that this makes it look more and more “funny – looking”, but in my eyes, it is still that cute little baby. It is also very naughty and often does things that make people angry and funny, such as peeking at me when I go to the toilet and “trampling” my paintings. Its rich expressions and excellent “acting skills” often make me laugh out loud.
Although Chuochuo is sometimes naughty, the happiness it brings me is irreplaceable. It has long and slender limbs, a small frame, and a narrow body. It can stretch extremely long and also curl up into a ball, looking very interesting. Moreover, it never gives me a cold feeling and is always full of enthusiasm, even though it is a Capricorn.
In the days to come, I only wish that the little baby Chuochuo can grow up healthily and happily. It has long become an indispensable part of my life, accompanying me through every ordinary and beautiful day and continuing to write the warm and interesting stories between us.
