In our family, there is an extremely cute and mischievous Siamese cat. Its formal name is Muzhi, and its nickname is Qibao. There is an interesting story behind its name. My partner and I had a quarrel about naming it. Finally, we reached an agreement that the name I chose would be the formal one, while the name she picked became the nickname. However, it seems that now it only recognizes its nickname. Every time we call “Qibao”, it will happily run over.
Qibao was bought by a friend and sent to my girlfriend in Xi’an when I was in Shanghai. I was worried that she would be lonely there. At that time, my girlfriend pretended to dislike it and said she wouldn’t keep it. But when Qibao was actually delivered to her, her happiness was beyond words. Since then, my family status has dropped sharply, and Qibao has successfully “ascended the throne” and become the “darling” of the family.
This Siamese cat is really a full – fledged drama queen. I remember once when we took it to get an injection. Before the needle even went in, it started to scream at the top of its lungs, as if it was suffering an extremely great grievance. After we got home, it crazily showed off its cuteness in front of my girlfriend, putting on a pitiful look, as if I had done something unforgivable to it in the hospital. It deliberately acted very cautious in front of me. As soon as it saw me from a distance, it would run away. But when I wasn’t paying attention, it would suddenly rush out and gently bite my ankle, then quickly run away, leaving me feeling helpless.
Qibao is also extremely curious. As long as there is the slightest movement at home, it will immediately run over to investigate. Once, when I was opening a delivery package, it heard the noise and rushed over at the fastest speed. It kept circling around the package and would reach out its claws to scratch it from time to time, trying to figure out what treasure was hidden inside. When I opened the package and took out a newly bought book, it directly jumped up and sniffed it with its nose, seemingly very interested in this “new toy”.
It also loves to interact with us. Every evening, when my girlfriend sits on the sofa watching TV, Qibao will jump onto the sofa and find the most comfortable position to curl up in her arms. Its eyes are fixed on the TV screen, as if it can understand the plot. And as soon as I sit in front of the computer to work, it will come over and walk around on my keyboard. From time to time, it will stretch out its claws and press a key, as if reminding me that it’s time to take a break and play with it for a while.
The arrival of Qibao has added a lot of fun to our lives. Although it can be naughty and make us laugh and cry at times, most of the time, it brings us endless warmth and companionship. It is like a member of our family, indispensable. With it around, our home is always filled with laughter. Looking back on the moment when I decided to send it to my girlfriend, I am really extremely glad that I made this correct choice. Now, we have gotten used to the life with Qibao. Every little move and every meow of it can touch our heartstrings. This little Siamese cat has unconsciously become the most important part of our lives. I believe that in the days to come, it will continue to accompany us and create more beautiful memories together.
