In my heart, pets are not just animals but also indispensable companions in life, capable of giving us endless warmth and company. And my encounter with Simba, a Siamese seal cat, is like a carefully woven fate, full of surprises and anticipation.
Simba, this lovely little guy, was born on February 25, 2017. When I first saw its photo, I was deeply attracted by its cute appearance. At that time, it was still in its original home, with a small body and lively eyes, which simply melted my heart. My boyfriend and I originally discussed getting a small Siamese cat. Before that, my boyfriend preferred dogs more, but since seeing Simba’s photo, he has also been immersed in the lovely world of cats and can’t extricate himself. He even looks forward to the “cat – petting” moments every day.
Those two photos seemed to have a magical power that made me resolutely decide that Simba was the kitten destined for me. From that moment on, I didn’t look at any other cats. Perhaps this is what people often call “instant connection at first sight”. Simba’s original family was far away in Weihai, while I was in Inner Mongolia. The long distance did not stop my determination to have it. To ensure Simba’s health, after careful discussion with its original family owner, we decided to let it take a plane from Weihai to Inner Mongolia at the end of April. Because we were worried that it might not adapt to the flight and get sick, it had to be about two months old before it could arrive home.
During the days of waiting for Simba to arrive, the original owner would send me small videos or photos every week. Every time I saw these images from afar, a strong sense of maternal love would well up in my heart. When I first saw its small video, it was still such a tiny one, delicate and cute. However, just one week later, when I saw its photo again, I was surprised to find that it had grown a lot. At that moment, I started to feel a little anxious, worrying that if it didn’t come soon, I would miss the precious time of accompanying its childhood growth. So, I eagerly awaited the end of April, looking forward to my first meeting with Simba.
Finally, when I received the text message notifying that Simba was about to set off, I was so excited that I felt like I could fly. I began to carefully prepare for Simba’s arrival. I bought it a soft cat bed, delicious cat food, and interesting toys, hoping to make it feel full of love and care in its new home.
On the day Simba arrived, I went to the airport early, feeling both nervous and excited. When I saw the staff coming out with the small Simba in their arms, my eyes lit up instantly. Simba looked a little timid at the strange surroundings, but when it saw me, it seemed to feel my love and meowed softly a few times. I carefully took it over and held it tightly in my arms. At that moment, I knew that the fate between us had officially begun.
Now, Simba has become the most important part of my life. Its liveliness, cuteness, and naughtiness have brought endless joy to my boyfriend and me. Every day when we get home and see it running over to greet us cheerfully, all the tiredness will disappear instantly. It likes to act coquettishly in our arms and also likes to chase toys and run around the room. Every day spent with Simba is full of warmth and happiness.
I am very grateful to fate for letting me meet Simba. This fate that spans the distance has made me understand that love can overcome all obstacles. I believe that in the future days, my boyfriend and I will always accompany Simba, witness its growth, and create more beautiful memories together. And Simba will continue to warm our lives with its love and become the most precious treasure in our hearts.
