At around three o’clock in the morning on October 1st, 2016, my wife and I picked up this little guy at the highway entrance, and since then, it officially became a member of our family. When it first arrived, facing this completely strange environment, it was curious about everything, as if it had discovered a new world. The big cat in our house, naturally, also became the target of its exploration. It always circled around the big cat, as if trying to figure out what this “big guy” was.
It also has a particularly cute habit. It is fond of all kinds of empty boxes and empty bags. Once it spots one, it will unhesitatingly get in, hide itself inside, and only show a small head, looking around. It seems to think that the narrow space is its secret base. As time went by day by day, its hilarious nature gradually emerged. It seemed to be trying hard to integrate into human life and even pretended to be one of us.
I remember once when my wife was fully concentrated on playing League of Legends, it somehow came over and stared intently at the computer screen. Its focused look was as if it could really understand the game situation. What was even more hilarious was that it would stretch out its little paw from time to time and “operate” by itself. Once, it suddenly pressed the flash key on the keyboard, and my wife’s game character flashed instantly. This unexpected operation made my wife surprised and amused, while it looked at us innocently, as if saying, “What’s wrong? I just wanted to help.”
On weekdays, it would swagger around and lie on the sofa, watching TV with us, looking as comfortable as a lazy master. Sometimes, it would lie quietly on the bed, motionless, as if deeply lost in thought. I wonder what kind of “cat philosophy” it is pondering in its little head. And when I try to get its attention, it often pretends not to see me and goes about its own business. Its arrogant look makes me angry and funny at the same time.
Now, it has grown from the little cute kitten at the beginning into a big lump. It often looks at my wife and me with a blank expression, as if asking, “Why is this world so strange?” Sometimes, looking at its stupid look, I can’t help but tease, “Brother, do I owe your family cat food? Why do you always look at us like this?” However, it’s not always blank – faced. Occasionally, it still shows rich expressions to prove that it’s not expressionless. When it’s in a good mood, it will show a gentle look, with its eyes squinted into a slit, looking extremely cute. When it’s flashed by the camera, it will instantly widen its eyes, showing a surprised expression, which is very funny.
Looking back on when it first came to our house, its small body was so furry and extremely cute. Who could have imagined that now it has successfully grown into a full – fledged hilarious cat, bringing countless joys to our lives. Every funny move it makes and every “cat – like thinking” moment has become a beautiful memory in our lives. Although it’s sometimes naughty and gives us headaches, more often, it warms our home with its unique charm. I often laugh and say that I must have adopted a fake Siamese cat because it’s so different and hilarious.
