Three months ago, we welcomed a new member into our family – a Siamese kitten. We’ve been raising it at home for over half a month, and the experience can be summed up in one word: lively! It’s really extremely naughty, as if it has an endless supply of energy in its little body.
I still remember the first night it came home. It immediately started its crazy “parkour mode”. It ran and shuttled around the room, hitting the glass at one moment and getting into various corners at another. Surprisingly, it wasn’t at all shy or unfamiliar with the new environment. When we stroked it, it didn’t resist at all and enjoyed it comfortably. This made us fall in love with this little guy right away.

As the days passed, it became more and more familiar with us. Every evening when we came home, it would meow enthusiastically as soon as it saw us. After coming out of the cage, it couldn’t wait to rub against our legs, acting coquettishly and asking for a pat. Its cute appearance melted our hearts.
This little guy has a special passion for sunbathing, but it’s extremely restless when doing so. Once, while sunbathing, its head got stuck in the gap of the window and couldn’t be pulled out.It also loves watching TV. It stares at the screen without blinking, as if it can understand the content inside, and its appearance is very interesting.
When we first brought it home, it was small and black, looking a bit timid and cowardly, yet extremely cute. Fortunately, its mother had taught it well. In terms of diet and hygiene, we hardly had to worry. It would obediently eat cat food, drink water, and skillfully use the litter box. However, it had a little problem at first – it liked to bite people. Several times its teeth almost bit our fingers. For this reason, my husband patiently educated it several times. Slowly, it seemed to understand that biting people was wrong. Now, as soon as its teeth touch a finger slightly, it will immediately turn its head away. It’s really a smart little guy.
Every morning, it’s like a punctual alarm clock, extremely noisy, chirping non – stop. It’s really talkative. If you ignore it, it can keep meowing for an hour, not giving up until it gets what it wants. It’s also extremely clingy. Whether we go to the toilet or do other things in the room, it has to follow closely, as if it doesn’t want to be separated from us for a single moment.
When we sit and play on the computer, as long as we call it gently, it will immediately run over and then lie obediently beside us, letting us stroke its soft fur and enjoying this intimate interaction. Watching it grow day by day, we are filled with joy.Sometimes, looking at its dark appearance, it’s like a little rabbit being naughty. Especially in its self – portrait, it seems to be trying hard to prove that it really has its eyes open. It’s curious about everything around it and wants to see everything clearly.
However, recently it’s given us some headaches. It’s started to go into heat. At night, it meows non – stop, and the meows come one after another, disturbing us so much that we can’t sleep at all. One night at four o’clock in the morning, my husband, who couldn’t stand it anymore, had to pick it up and throw it into the bathroom. The next day, looking at its pitiful appearance, we felt a bit heartbroken.
Last weekend, because I had something to go out, I left it in a foster place for two days. But unexpectedly, after it came back, it started not eating or drinking and had diarrhea for three days. This really scared us. We quickly took it to see a veterinarian, and the doctor said it needed to be treated with an IV. Looking at its small body with a needle stuck in it, we were full of worry. After four days of IV treatment, it finally regained its former liveliness, and the big stone in our hearts finally dropped.
We also have an American Shorthair brother at home. He’s a “gymnastics first – class player”, agile and often jumping up and down at home, making all kinds of difficult moves. Interestingly, once we took a photo of the two of them. Their appearance was like they had been caught in an affair. In fact, both of them have been sterilized. These two little guys, one lively and naughty, the other smart and agile, their existence has filled our home with vitality and joy, and also made our lives more colorful.
