In my life, there is a little creature that has brought countless joys and surprises – my cat, Zai Zai.
Zai Zai got his name in a rather interesting way. One morning, when I was still half – asleep, he woke up and climbed onto my shoulder, showering me with kisses. His enthusiasm was so endearing. That day, he also showed a huge interest in the strings of my clothes, looking extremely fierce while playing with them. He even seemed to complain, “I think this yellow cat bed is holding back my power.” His funny antics made me laugh so hard that I thought he was just too cute and a bit of a lazybones, in a lovable way of course.
Zai Zai came into our lives in an unexpected manner. My girlfriend found a micro – businessperson somewhere when Zai Zai was only two months old. After spending an hour making up her mind, she bought this little cutie. However, since we were both students and she felt she didn’t have the conditions to raise him, she entrusted Zai Zai to me. Zai Zai took a plane to Chongqing. I went to the airport to pick him up, taking a light rail ride that lasted about an hour and a half. But due to the flight delay and the process of pet consignment, I ended up spending about four hours at the airport. I watched a whole football match, had a meal, and even got hungry again. I fed all the mosquitoes at the airport before Zai Zai finally arrived.

When I first received Zai Zai, he was extremely thin. But to my surprise, he wasn’t afraid of me at all. Instead, he lay on my lap, asking for pats and hugs. And so, Zai Zai became a member of my college dormitory life. He had a nocturnal lifestyle. Whenever I was playing games, he would lie on the keyboard, trying to get my attention. When I was doing my homework, he would lie on my notebook, playing with the pen and biting the paper. At night, when I was sleeping, he would sleep beside my pillow, purring softly. He loved to walk on my face, stomach, and all over me at night, and then sneak under the bed to drag out snacks from the bag. Often, when I woke up in the morning, the floor would be covered with various snack packaging, with all the food inside eaten up.
Although my roommates also liked him very much, I always felt that the dormitory wasn’t the best environment for him. Cats need a large enough space to play and explore. There were always a lot of people coming in and out of the dormitory every day, which easily frightened Zai Zai. So, during the holidays, I had to send Zai Zai back home to the person who bought him. I believe that was also a happy time for Zai Zai.
Zai Zai has become an important part of my life. His every move, every expression, and every bit of interaction with me has left a deep mark in my heart. Even though we are separated during holidays, the memories we created together in the dormitory will always be cherished. He is truly a little fairy who has brought warmth and happiness to my life.
