Miaomiao, my beloved feline companion, has brought a unique blend of chaos and warmth into my life. As I reflect on our days together, two characteristics stand out prominently: her extreme clinginess and her rather… interesting choice of resting spots.
After being away for five days, I found myself yearning to see Miaomiao. Her presence, with all its quirks, had become an integral part of my daily routine. When I returned to work until ten o’clock at night, my boyfriend captured a blurry photo of a heartwarming scene. There I was, sitting at the desk, engrossed in my computer work, and Miaomiao, instead of indulging in her usual playful antics, was intently watching me. She maintained this watchful stance for over ten minutes. This display of attention from Miaomiao made my boyfriend feel a bit left out. It was as if in a trio of friends, one sometimes feels sidelined.
Miaomiao is quite the talker. Her meows are loud and incessant. When I return home, it’s as if she has a thousand things to tell me. One day, our “conversation” with her was rather amusing. My boyfriend, playfully imitating a child, greeted her, “Little white rabbit (a pet name for me), Aunt Miaomiao is back!” Miaomiao responded with an enthusiastic “Wow!” Then he asked, “Do you miss Aunt Miaomiao?” And she let out an even louder “Wow!!”Our neighbor’s child once exclaimed, “Oh my god! The cat is meowing again!!”
She is incredibly clingy. When I go to the toilet, she follows me without fail, because she knows this is a great time to get a few strokes. When I’m doing homework, she is right there beside me. And when I’m using the computer, if I try to go to the bathroom, she gets very upset. She becomes so absorbed in my work that she feels neglected, and when I leave, she misses me terribly. As a result, she often jumps onto the keyboard, either to get a sense of my presence or to “help” me with my work, sometimes even accidentally deleting a few pages of my PPT. Whether I’m at a high table or on a low bench, as long as I’m around, she will always be within a meter of me. At any moment, she desires to be petted. When I call her name, she will eagerly bring her head closer, asking for affection.
Despite her sometimes – annoying behavior, she also shows great love and care for me. When my boyfriend was “punished” to kneel on the balcony (a playful scenario, of course), Miaomiao stayed by his side, not leaving for a moment.
Miaomiao is also extremely greedy for food. She has a particular fondness for cat treats. She would rather starve or lose weight than eat ordinary cat food. Toys are another source of her endless entertainment. She loves playing with straws, cat scratch boards, brushes, and plastic bags. Her actions are often quite unexpected but always hilarious. For example, there was a time when she posed in a rather comical way, as if asking, “This young hero, do I look like this pig?”
And then there’s her rather strange sleeping habit. She has a penchant for finding the dirtiest places to rest. Once, she was found sleeping behind the air – conditioner chassis, with her feet propped up on the wall like an old man. It’s as if she enjoys the most unconventional and, well, “dirty” spots. The eggshells on the floor were a result of her rummaging through the flower pot and then stepping on them. Clearly, it wasn’t me who made that mess.
In conclusion, Miaomiao, with all her idiosyncrasies, has made my life more colorful. Her clinginess, talkativeness, and strange behaviors are all part of her charm. I look forward to more adventures and memories with this lovable feline in the future.
