The Experience of Saving and Raising a Sick Siamese Cat

The Experience of Saving and Raising a Sick Siamese Cat

What is it like to keep a Siamese cat?

Just one word!

Great!

A year ago, when I first came to Shenzhen, I was so overwhelmed by work that I even had the thought of jumping off a building. So I quickly bought a cat to calm my nerves!

I still haven’t told it that I bought it with the lowest budget and living frugally because I didn’t have much money at that time! I originally wanted a tabby cat… But! I have always been instilling in it that you! are! a! noble! trendy! my little prince!!

Well, let me tell you what the experience is like!

First of all, I was quite unlucky! I bought a kitten that had just left its litter, and it was the ugliest one… It was a complete shock! It looked so much bigger in the pictures on Taobao! But when I received it, it was only as big as the palm of my hand!!!

I was like???

This doesn’t match the product description, shop owner!!

Not long ago, I read on Zhihu that when you give something a name, its meaning changes. My dad thought about it for a few days and gave it a name that is said to be very stylish with a Hong Kong flavor and has a noble special effect!

Heizi

It gives the feeling of a mountain bandit leader…

On the fourth day of raising it, problems emerged. It had a runny nose, sneezed, had goopy eyes, vomited, had diarrhea, and was listless…

Thinking about it now, a year later, I still feel so sad! I didn’t know the way around Shenzhen when I first arrived. I wrapped it in a sweater and blindly searched for a pet hospital on the street… It was already ten o’clock when I found one…

When it took the medicine, it foamed at the mouth. It needed an injection, but it was only six taels heavy and was too small, so the doctor dared not give it the injection. The doctor said it needed to be hospitalized. To be honest, because of financial constraints, I refused hospitalization and only got some medicine.

Moreover, it was close to the Spring Festival. I was going home for the New Year. I couldn’t bear to leave it in a pet boarding place and didn’t feel at ease doing so either. The doctor said that since it was so small and hadn’t had its vaccinations, I couldn’t get a certificate to take it on the plane.

And the doctor clearly said that without an injection and hospitalization for observation, it could only live for about five days…

That won’t do!

At that time, I didn’t even know what a “week-old cat” was. Anyway, I just thought that this little guy was something I bought with a lot of money! It couldn’t just be gone like that! After getting hopeless answers from two hospitals! I decided to try any possible way to save it! I did my research. No matter how messy things were, I only had one thought! That was to make it survive!

I learned about the medicine and nebulizer treatment from Baidu! And bought them on Taobao!

I gave it a half-hour nebulization treatment every day. I poked a small hole in a courier box and put the nebulizer’s mouth in it. I did this for it every day when I got home from work.

At that time, I would sit on the cardboard box and hold it down to keep it from coming out. During those short half an hour, hearing its cries of distress made me feel so heartbroken… It was also very scared, and it even lost control of its bowels out of fear…

During that period, I developed a habit. The first thing I did when I opened my eyes was to check on it… to see if it was still breathing… And I still do this to this day…

After a week of perseverance, it got better… Although it still had a runny nose occasionally… But it survived!

And it was full of energy and followed me on the plane back to Guiyang, and it quickly gained weight to two jin!
