My Silver Shaded British Shorthair, An Daji: A Journey of Love and Worry

My Silver Shaded British Shorthair, An Daji: A Journey of Love and Worry

When I decided to bring home my silver shaded British Shorthair, An Daji, I was driven by a simple yet powerful emotion – love at first sight. I didn’t pay much attention to the market price at that time. I bought him for 1200 yuan. Perhaps his appearance wasn’t the most perfect. As time goes by, he has been getting darker. His mother was also on the darker side when I saw her. But that didn’t matter to me because I truly loved him.

I’ve been raising An Daji for four months now. Initially, everything seemed to be going smoothly. I even neglected some important aspects of pet care. I haven’t given him any vaccines, and the box of deworming medicine that cost me several hundred yuan has been sitting forgotten in a corner. I live in Shanghai, and An Daji, despite being a male cat, has a rather unique name – An Daji.

The photos taken not long after I first got him show a tiny kitten. I can’t quite remember if he was born in September or October. At that time, he was really small, weighing only about two catties. But he wasn’t shy at all when he first arrived home. He looked a bit dazed, but in my eyes, he was extremely cute.

In just a few short months, An Daji has grown into a relatively large cat. A few days ago, I weighed him, and he was almost seven catties. His growth has been astonishing.

Let me share some of our daily stories. Sometimes, he gives me a charming wink that really catches my attention. One day, when I was working, he fell asleep on me. His cute appearance at that moment was so endearing that I just had to record it. Since I usually go to work during the day, every time I come home, I find him sleeping on the bed. Maybe this is how he developed his love for sleeping. Even when I’m at home during the day, he can still fall asleep easily. Cats always seem to have a natural “eyeliner” look, and An Daji is no exception. In some photos, you can clearly see how plump he has become.

Today, when I was trying to take pictures of him, he just wouldn’t cooperate. He can be quite naughty at times. Another interesting thing is that An Daji took the initiative to kiss the neighbor’s Teddy. But of course, there’s no “future” for them. An Daji often shows his clingy side. If you’re looking for a super – clingy cat, a silver shaded British Shorthair like An Daji is a great choice. He always follows me around, making me feel his love and dependence.

However, recently, there have been some worrying situations. Today, An Daji seemed listless. I silently prayed that he wouldn’t get sick because I really didn’t have the money to take him to the vet. Unfortunately, my prayer wasn’t answered. This morning, An Daji vomited and didn’t eat anything all day. He has already gone several days without eating. After getting an injection yesterday, he seemed to be in a slightly better mood this morning. At this moment, I suddenly felt a bit regretful about raising him. Maybe pet cats are really not suitable for people with limited financial resources. It’s not that I’m reluctant to spend money on him. It’s just that I want to give him the best but lack the financial ability to do so. Despite these difficulties, I know that An Daji has already become an important part of my life. I will try my best to take care of him, learn more about pet care knowledge, and hope that he can recover soon and continue to accompany me with his cute and clingy self.
