The Story of Yingbang and Euro: My Adorable Feline Companions

The Story of Yingbang and Euro: My Adorable Feline Companions

On June 16th, there was an update in my feline family. Yingbang’s “wife,” who was adopted by my sister, and I sincerely hope that they will be able to rekindle their relationship someday in the future.

Let me start by introducing Yingbang. I got him for 1300 yuan. When I first went to see the litter of kittens, he was just over a month old. Among them, he was the chubbiest one. There were also two silver point kittens in the same litter, but I decided on Yingbang. However, when I went to see them again later, Yingbang was no longer the biggest. A little female cat had overtaken him in size, and I felt a bit sad about that.

I brought Yingbang home when he was a little over two months old. But after about a week, due to work reasons, I had to go to another city.I put him in a cat carrier and turned on the air conditioning for him at night. Unfortunately, after arriving, he started sneezing. After he got used to the new environment for about a week, I took him to the hospital. It was diagnosed that he had the feline calicivirus. Then began the daily trips to the hospital, where he received three injections every day for three weeks. It really broke my heart to see him go through that. Later, the treatment was changed to taking medicine and applying eye drops, and this continued for another two weeks. The total cost of the treatment was a little over 3500 yuan, which increased his “value,” but fortunately, all the efforts paid off, and he finally recovered.

Now Yingbang is quite healthy, although he is on the thin side. I feed him beef every day in the hope of helping him develop prominent cheeks. However, he is a bit of a picky eater. When he lies down, he looks just like a cat treat.

As the “520” (a day symbolizing love in China, similar to Valentine’s Day) was approaching, I decided to find a “wife” for him. Since I didn’t want to have him neutered too early, after much deliberation, I decided to pair him with a little silver point kitten named Euro. Euro cost 2000 yuan, a bit more expensive than Yingbang.

When I first saw Euro, I couldn’t help but laugh. The little cat’s face was full of displeasure. I wondered what on earth could make such a cute kitten so unhappy. I found Euro quite special, so I decided to take her. The owner of Euro raised her by himself, and Euro was really chubby and clean. The day after I made the decision, the owner delivered Euro to my place and also gave me a lot of homemade cat food he made. Euro had been eating meat since she was a kitten, which was why she was so plump. He even gave me a cat collar, and Yingbang benefited from that.

Today is “520”! I wish all the loving cats could end up together.

PS: In the morning, Euro stole and ate Yingbang’s adult cat food and vomited it all up. I fed her probiotics, and it took her the whole morning to recover. She is so gluttonous even at such a young age.

Taking care of Yingbang and Euro has been a journey filled with ups and downs. From Yingbang’s illness and recovery to the addition of Euro to our family, every moment has been memorable. These two little furballs have brought so much joy and worry to my life. I will continue to take good care of them, watching them grow and develop, and looking forward to more heartwarming stories between them in the future. I hope they will always be healthy and happy, and their relationship will grow stronger day by day.
