My Precious Feline Companion: A Journey of Love and Care

My Precious Feline Companion: A Journey of Love and Care

When I first laid my eyes on that adorable silver shaded British Shorthair kitten in the pet store, I was immediately smitten. It was only 52 days old at that time, and I just knew I had to take it home. The original price was 1800 yuan, but after some bargaining, I managed to get it for 1600 yuan. However, buying a cat from a pet store really requires caution, as I soon found out.

Shortly after bringing my little furball home, it caught a cold. The subsequent check – up and the cost of the medicine amounted to 1200 yuan. Unfortunately, the cold lingered for two months and didn’t fully subside. Because of this, I didn’t dare to give it the vaccination for two months. Later, I took it to do a four – in – one respiratory test, which cost 380 yuan. It turned out to be a mycoplasma infection. After another two weeks of taking medicine, it finally recovered.

Just when I thought everything was going well, uveitis struck. The cost of the examination and the medicine this time was 600 yuan. But thankfully, now my cat is healthy and thriving. It has a preference for wet food, especially staple food cans. I usually feed it cans from brands like Ziwi Peak and Leo.

My cat, whom I affectionately call Miaomiao, isn’t overly clingy. I think it might be because I often have to go to work and don’t have much time to accompany it. Since it was a kitten, it has been alone at home for long periods. Despite this, it is extremely lively.

When I first brought it home, it looked so pitiful but was incredibly well – behaved. It didn’t make a sound and was rather timid. At three months old, although it was still suffering from the cold, its spirit was excellent. It had a good appetite and was very energetic, running around the house with enthusiasm.

I’m particularly fond of its eyes. They are so bright and full of life. And when it sleeps, it always lies in a straight line, which is really funny. It seems to have a great love for sleeping.

During the Spring Festival, I bought a festive outfit for it. Well, it only wore it for a photo shoot. It flatly refused to wear it at other times.

It has finally noticed the existence of my crested gecko. Every day, it goes to play on the terrarium. Oh, my dear cat, please don’t scare them! Recently, it has taken a liking to sleeping in a basin. The way it curls up in the basin is really hilarious.

I used to not be a cat person and had never owned a cat before. I used to like dogs, but I didn’t have the time to take them for walks. This journey with my cat has been filled with both challenges and joys. The initial health issues were worrying, but seeing it grow and become healthy and happy makes all the efforts worthwhile. It has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, and unconditional love. I look forward to spending many more wonderful years with my feline friend, creating countless precious memories together. Whether it’s watching it play, seeing its cute sleeping poses, or simply having it by my side, every moment with it is a treasure. I’m grateful to have this little ball of fur in my life, and I will continue to take the best care of it to ensure it lives a long and happy life.
