As a novice cat owner, I have found my silver shaded British Shorthair, Peach, to be an absolute joy. From the moment I brought her home, she has filled my life with warmth and laughter.
The personality of silver shaded British Shorthairs is truly remarkable. On the second day after bringing Peach home, she was already rubbing against my legs, showing her affection. And that continuous purring! At first, I didn’t even realize that the purring meant she was happy. It was such a heartwarming discovery.
Peach was only three months old when I first welcomed her into my home. She was full of energy and vitality, with a lively personality. She loved to run around everywhere. Even when I was walking around on the rooftop, watering the plants, she would chase after my feet, as if we were playing a fun game together. It was incredibly endearing to see her so enthusiastic about following me around.

Now, at three and a half months old, Peach has a rather cute habit. She likes to bite, but it’s not a real bite. It’s just a very gentle nibble on my fingers, followed by a lick. I assume it’s because she’s still young and full of playfulness. Her round head and beautiful eyeliner make her look even more adorable. It’s as if she was born with a natural charm.
Another great thing about Peach is that she knew how to use the litter box and bury her feces right from the start. This has saved me a lot of trouble and made the process of raising her much more worry – free. It shows that she has a natural sense of cleanliness and proper behavior.
On January 29, 2021, I have an update on Peach. It has been two months since I brought her home, and now she is five months old. Looking at her from the side, it’s obvious that she has gained some weight. She has become a little chubbier, which only adds to her cuteness.
Peach has a healthy appetite. She can eat, sleep, and relieve herself regularly. Her eating habits are a sign of good health. She enjoys her cat food and snacks, and it’s a pleasure to watch her gobble up her meals. When it comes to sleeping, she has her favorite spots around the house, where she curls up into a little ball and takes long, peaceful naps. And her regular bowel movements indicate that her digestive system is working well.
Taking care of Peach has been a learning experience for me. I have learned about different types of cat food, the importance of regular grooming, and how to understand her body language. For example, when she arches her back and puffs up her fur, I know she might be feeling threatened or defensive. And when she rolls over on her back, it means she trusts me and is in a relaxed mood.
In conclusion, my silver shaded British Shorthair, Peach, has brought so much happiness into my life. Her cute antics, affectionate nature, and growing personality make every day with her a new adventure. I look forward to watching her grow and develop in the future, and I’m excited to continue this wonderful journey of cat – ownership with her by my side.
