The Growth of Nuomi Tuan

The Growth of Nuomi Tuan

In my heart, my two “furry sons” hold a special place. My older son is a blue cat named Guobao Rou, and my younger one is a silver shaded British Shorthair named Nuomi Tuan, affectionately called Tuan Tuan.

Tuan Tuan came into my life in a wonderful way. A friend’s silver shaded British Shorthair gave birth to a litter of cute kittens, and she kindly offered one to me. When I first brought Tuan Tuan home, it was only 21 days old. It was so tiny that it could fit comfortably in the palm of my hand, a little ball of fur that instantly melted my heart.

Since I had only raised Guobao Rou from four months old, raising such a young kitten like Tuan Tuan was a whole new challenge. I bombarded my friend with numerous questions. Taking care of a kitten that hadn’t even reached a month old was incredibly tough.

When it was time for Tuan Tuan to be weaned around one month old, it was a truly arduous task. It refused to eat cat food at first. I had no choice but to patiently pick up one grain of cat food at a time and gently place it into its tiny mouth. Because it left its mother at such a young age, Tuan Tuan was frightened of everything around it. When it slept, it would curl up into a tight ball, looking so vulnerable. At that time, all I wished for was that it could grow up quickly.

Time flew by. When Tuan Tuan was between two and three months old, it started to become more sensible. It could eat cat food on its own and use the litter box properly. As its “father,” I felt extremely relieved and proud. But as Tuan Tuan grew, it also became increasingly naughty. It would jump around the house, knocking down everything on the countertops. However, no matter how naughty it was, my love for it never wavered.

I still remember the first Christmas Tuan Tuan experienced. It was full of curiosity, looking at the decorated Christmas tree with wide eyes. Before I knew it, Tuan Tuan was eight months old, and it started to show signs of being in heat. Helplessly, I had to make a difficult decision for its health. I felt so sorry for it at that moment. But fortunately, time healed all wounds.

Now, Tuan Tuan is almost two years old. Maybe I’ve fed it a little too well, and it has become a bit chubby. One day, when my father visited my home and saw Tuan Tuan, he was completely shocked. He exclaimed, “Have you raised a long-haired pig?”

For Tuan Tuan, I don’t have any extravagant expectations. All I want is for it to stay healthy and happy. Tuan Tuan, you bring so much joy to my life. I love you from the bottom of my heart.
