My dog is the legendary “other people’s dog”

My dog is the legendary “other people’s dog”. She came to my house in October 2013 and is now five years old. She is a very timid and well-behaved Labrador. A girl.

Before taking her home, I watched a lot of dog training videos and articles and mastered some methods. The first thing I did when I came home was to train her to wait for food. A week later, I trained her to pee and poop in the toilet. Coco is very smart and learned to wait for food almost within a day. The reason why we waited for a week in the toilet was because we observed her toilet habits during this week. After mastering the excretion pattern, I took her to the toilet and gave her biscuits every time she peed or pooped. I reinforced her several times on Saturday and she remembered it. The next morning, we found a pile of poop in the toilet, and then we happily rewarded her again. From then on, she would open the toilet door by herself to poop at night. Of course, when she grew up, she no longer peed at home. She

hardly destroyed anything at home. In fact, the main reason is that her family members accompanied her more and she did not experience separation anxiety.

I haven’t trained her with too many commands, but she will consciously sit down and wait for food, and shake hands. I think these are all performances for humans, and she should just be happy on her own. When she goes out to play, she will basically not run away from my sight. Even if other puppies have gone on adventures, if she looks back and can’t see me, she will hurry back. When I take her for a walk, I will always respond to her eyes. When she looks back at me, I will praise her and touch her, so walking has always been me talking to myself and touching the dog like a fool.

Now she is five years old. Every birthday, I will throw a small party for her. Last year, I went to the beach for a self-driving tour and took her on a speedboat. In fact, she was very scared, haha.

Many articles say that Labradors are devils when they are young and angels when they grow up, but I don’t feel that at all. She has been a well-behaved little angel since she was a child, and everyone loves her. I am now more than seven months pregnant. I have made an appointment to take maternity photos in two weeks, and I will take her with me. I believe she will be a good sister to my baby.

One more thing to add: Coco was adopted. She was the thinnest and smallest of the Labrador litter. She didn’t look good. No one wanted her, but I didn’t mind her. I brought her home. I didn’t expect that she would be the most well-behaved and warmest little angel in the world. I really found a treasure.

Forget it, let’s just focus on my Coco’s cute appearance. Hahahaha,

I usually lead her when I go out, especially when I take the elevator downstairs, because it’s easier to run into children. I will lead Coco and let the children go first. Although many people like dogs, there are also elderly and children in the neighborhood who are afraid of dogs because of their large size. I have seen too many of them in the years of raising dogs. As long as it is not in this dog walking garden, I will definitely lead her when I go to other places. The rope is a Flexi alien, and the collar is also hung around my neck. The alien I bought is the complete version, which has a small box for plastic bags to pick up dog poop. I think I am a civilized dog owner.

Thank you all for loving my Coco so much. I just took her to take maternity photos for her birthday a few days ago and bought her two boxes of snacks. I am afraid that she will feel neglected after giving birth to a baby. So please be nice to her now. She is a big girl at the age of five. Please take care of her in the future too.
