When I decided to raise a cat, to be honest, I didn’t research which type of cat would be suitable for a novice. It just so happened that a friend’s or colleague’s cat had kittens, and I seized the opportunity to take one in. My cat, Tiezhu, is a cross between a Ragdoll and an American Shorthair. However, it looks more like an American Shorthair, probably because its mother is an American Shorthair. Its fur is short, unlike the long fur of a Ragdoll, and it feels extremely soft to the touch.
For beginners, a lively cat is an excellent choice, and Tiezhu proved this right from the start. On the very night it entered our home, within an hour, it was already dashing around the house. It actively searched for its litter box, food bowl, water dispenser, and toys, running back and forth on the floor. It showed no signs of being in a strange environment at all.
What’s more, on that first night, it had already climbed onto the bed to sleep. It wasn’t afraid of people at all. Anyone could pick it up and play with it. Its friendly and fearless nature made it loved by everyone who met it.

In just over a week, Tiezhu had already become so comfortable in our home that it was eager to explore the living room. Every time I opened the door, it would wait right by the door, ready to seize the opportunity to rush out. I’ve caught it several times, and it’s really quite amusing. When it realizes it can’t get out, it will sensibly run to the balcony or under the bed to play.
Last weekend, I fed it jelly sticks and small biscuits. Its sense of smell is incredibly sharp. As soon as I take out the food, it can smell the aroma and start sniffing around my hands, searching eagerly. Sometimes, it even licks my hand. Now, I can hardly eat anything without attracting its attention. The moment it sees my mouth moving, it will rush towards me, meowing and even pawing at my legs. If I’m sitting down, it will try to reach up with its little paws, but it’s very gentle and never scratches me.
I always enjoy watching the way it tries so hard to get the food but just can’t seem to reach it. However, if it asks for food a few times and I don’t give in, it will leave and come back later. It seems to have its own little strategies.
Tiezhu has quickly become an important part of our family. Its lively and curious personality brings so much energy and joy to our daily lives. Whether it’s its energetic exploration of the house or its cute attempts to get food, every moment spent with it is full of fun. I’m looking forward to seeing how it continues to grow and develop, and I’m sure it will bring us even more wonderful memories in the future. I’m really glad that I had the chance to welcome this lovely little creature into my life, and I’ll do my best to take good care of it and ensure it has a happy and healthy life.
