My cat, Guji, has truly become the light of my life. I got him from my neighbor’s house. My neighbor had just finished a fine decoration of their home, and unfortunately, their furniture had been scratched by their cats. As a result, the two cats were kept outdoors. One day, when I went to visit them, I laid my eyes on Guji, and I was immediately smitten by his cuteness. At that time, I had never owned a cat before and had no idea what breed he was. Later, my neighbor mentioned that they didn’t want to keep the cats anymore, and without hesitation, I decided to take him in. Since then, this little outdoor cat has been living in his own “single – cat room.”
On the first day I gave him a bath, I was a bit worried. I was afraid that he might bite me. However, to my great surprise, he was extremely well – behaved. He neither scratched nor bit me. When his body got wet and he wasn’t happy about it, all he did was purr and didn’t dare to move around. It was so endearing to see his obedient nature.
One of Guji’s favorite things to do is to hide under the bed. It seems to be his little secret base where he feels safe and comfortable. My neighbor had told me that he wasn’t clingy, but after bringing him home, I found that it was completely the opposite. Maybe it was because he had always been outdoors before and didn’t get much attention or petting. Once I started to stroke him, he would happily lie down on his own, showing his enjoyment and trust.
On the second day, a friend who came to play with the cat told me that Guji was a silver shaded British Shorthair, and such cats usually cost two to three thousand yuan each. At that moment, I felt like I had really gotten a great bargain! I was overjoyed that I had such a precious cat in my home.
As time went by, I gradually let him out of the “single – cat room.” I was pleased to find that apart from sleeping everywhere, he didn’t rummage through things randomly. Sometimes, when he saw me reading a book and ignoring him, he would jump onto the sofa and find a comfortable position to lie down, waiting patiently for my attention.
At first, I was a bit worried because I thought he was too fat. When my friend gave me a cat teaser wand, he didn’t seem interested at all. I even suspected that I had an unusual cat. But one day, everything changed. He unexpectedly fell in love with a swaying strip of rubber on the skirting board and even managed to bite it off.
This incident gave me an inspiration. I discovered that a tape measure, which only costs 5.8 yuan each, could make Guji so excited that he would even walk upright! It seemed that there was hope for him to lose weight. I was so happy to find an activity that he really enjoyed and that could also help him stay active.
Guji has brought so much joy and warmth to my life. His gentle and clingy personality makes me love him more and more every day. Whether he’s hiding under the bed, lying on the sofa, or playing with the tape measure, every moment with him is precious. I’m grateful to have him as my companion, and I look forward to creating many more wonderful memories with him in the future. I will take good care of him and watch him grow and be healthy and happy. He is not just a cat to me; he is an important member of my family.
